Play This Course At Least Once In Your Life
To start, I am an "old beginner", in that I played 2-3 times a week in my teens...but played 2-3 times in the past 15 years. Swing is gone, but I know what I'm looking at...and this course was beautiful. Tee boxes, fairways, greens were all in good condition. Course can be played fairly quick, but I suggest taking it slow. Some holes are short for par at the white, but gold does up the distance challenge. Bunkers & water are well laid, OUB sides are good/clear (if you don't see your ball right away, it's gone), good/wide fairways, good run on greens, & challenging slope on some of the ocean approaches. Staff was wonderful and knowledgeble. Will play again!
Beautiful course on the beach with tight fairways.
Perfect day for golf on the beach and what an awesome time. Enjoyed the scenery along with the golf. The fairways were tight so hitting straight was a must. Went alone but was paired up right away. There was plenty of lakes along with the beach and it had plenty of bunkers. A challenging course but a lot of fun. Would definitely recommend you play it at least once for the coast experience.
Most challenging 6100 I've ever played
Great links course in great condition. With some spetacular views. the signature 15th is a beauty in all respects. Greens rolled consistently and were well shaped. But, unless you sport a very low handicap I'd suggest not trying the 6100 yard tips. The 5500 blues would be challenge enough for most players.
Simply and outstanding track.
Beware Front Pin Placement on Hole 5
Great course as advertised and plenty of challenges. But yesterday on hole #5 with back pin placement both wife and an I both hit the green and got two GIR's and two pars. Today again hit the same place at back of the green. But could NOT put to the front and hold the green. After four attempts got the ball up to the green from below, only to see it turn around and roll off and down 40 yards . . . we gave up. There was no way to complete the hole.
Beautiful ocean links style course
Weather was great, views were awesome, course was tight
Awesome Views
I've played better looking courses, but views made this course worth playing!
You really don't need your driver, use your long to mid irons to keep the ball in play of the tee!
Finally, play the course in the morning to avoid slow play!
P.S.
Take some pictures/selfies... Especially on holes 15 and 16!
Great Layout
This course has a great layout and is very scenic. the greens were fantastic. I read other reviews that said the fairways and tees were in poor condition, but we found them to be in good (not great) condition. The staff was exceptional. We will play Oak Marsh next.
Great relaxing fun
Beautiful place greens where perfect the Oakes with the moss hanging down just a nice solid course from beginning to end
great test
i played the oak marsh side last week and it was great then i came back to play the ocean links 18 wow the views were spectacular and the greens were challenging pace of play was as fast as you want it too be the staff was excellent aside from the starter was was a little confused regarding questions about the coarse or the pace of play he was very nice besides the point i would reccomend you play the ocean over oak marsh just for the views.
Picturesque setting
Challenging course with exceptional views of the ocean. Nice après golf outside area.
nice course
Great deal on this course through this site. Paid 46 to as a single to join a a 3some. Very well maintained
So So
The course is Gorgeous and only for that is worthy to go and play there.
The Staff is just friendly, don't go the extra mile for sure. I ended up tiping nobody.
The rental clubs where THE BEST, expensive though (65 $ per the ful set) but they gave me brand new TM Tour Prefered, stiff shafts. Great clubs.
The worst thing is that they don't have changing rooms nore showers, I had to refresh me a little bit into the Bar's Restroom. No showers in Florida???
Beautiful Florida course
My wife and I played 18 holes starting at 3:30 on a Wednesday. We loved that no one was in front nor behind us. The Oceanside holes are fun to play and very scenic with a nice breeze. The back holes wind through a part of Amelia Island that you don't see by car. The course was fair, in good shape and worth playing. There is enough variation to make you think on each hole. My wife loved the red tee locations (little or no water to carry).
Taking advantage of Big Break sale
The condition of the course was not good. There were patches and some of the greens were experiencing issues. I would pass on another round there.
Ocean links
Great views, narrow fairways. Could have teed off w 3iron on most par 4s and still scored well.
A perfect round
Absolutely beautiful
Course. Challenging, but not impossible. Perfect vacation golf spot. Signage could be better.
great greens....expensive foods
The greens, fringe and tee boxes were immaculate. The fairways were mostly in rough condition....possibly due to the rain the two days before we played. The pro shop and cart staff were not too welcoming or polite, especially for a resort course. The range is small but decent. The cart girl was very nice. The food prices were very very steep. $9 dollars for a turkey sandwich and $4 for a can of coke. Overall the course and ocean layout make it worth it. Difficult to play from the tips. Bring your camera.
Great Golf, So-so beverage service
The golf staff was great and the course was a fun play. But, the beverage service was terrible. One beverage on the 8th hole, with a large tip for the promise of a return visit was not good enough. No more beverage service after that on a warm and windy day left us parched and waining for a beverage to no avail. Personal coolers are not allowed...? If I go back, I'm taking my own drinks!
Fun course
Greens a little slow, views great, weather was good
Staff was polite
Very disappointing
Expected more after seeing the course on Big Break. With the exception of about 4 holes, the fairways were terrible. Little or no grass in most spots. I was told they don't overseed after I mentioned the poor conditions. Also told they had a bad winter. If that was the case wonder why the Ritz course a mile away was in such nice shape. Greens were decent too. Place needs a general update. Not a good value for the hefty greens fees.
