Nice, Playable FL Resort with some Great Oceanside Holes
This is a nice, FL resort course with a few pretty Oceanside holes.
Despite the name, the course is not really links style, so don't come with that in mind. 5/18 holes are Oceanside but three of those are par-3s. The other 13 holes have plenty of trees and water if your tee shots are errant. But the course is neither tight nor long and the greens are in good shape and not crazily contoured, so if you are playing well, you can score decently.
The carts do not have GPS/yardage, so if you like to have precise information to greens and hazards, bring a rangefinder or GPS.
Worth playing but don't expect Kiawah.
Perfection
A must play course is in perfect condition. Warning play from the blue or white it's short but playing from tips will eat ur lunch.. Staff was excellent and beer was cheap 4buckz or 20 for 6pk..
Very good course
Great layout ,, great conditions ,, very good course
Ocean links
Beautiful course. Some confusion leaving #8 to #9. #17 tee box is right after #8 green. Great time overall.
Breathtaking views
Outstanding! Will play there again. Hot and humid in August! Will try it in the spring next time
Great course and money well spent!
I have played at this facility several times and have NEVER been disappointed. Great course and very good staff. Tees, fairways and greens in great shape.
The only drawback is distance from greens to some tees. Long drives! But very shady which is great in summer in FL.
AMAZING COURSE
AMAZING COURSE WITH GREAT VIEWS. HAD A BLAST. WILL BE BACK SOON.
Fairways just ‘slightly' wider than tees
I loved the challenge of this course. To compete for low scores, accurate shot making is a must to avoid penalties. The course designer, Mr. Weed, must have had difficulty locating teeing grounds because many of the gold tees were difficult to find. Perhaps some improved directional signs would help this.
The on-course assistance, aka cart girl, was excellent.
Perfect Setting
This is one of the best courses I've ever played. The terrain, and scenery, set it apart. Don't let the Par 70 fill you. This course doesn't play like other Par 70's in the area.
There were a few spots where the greens had some sod patches, but flag positions primarily kept those patches out of play.
You'll spend a lot of time on the cart, because it's so spread out, but there's great scenery. A treat for the price.
Challenging and fun.
Ocean Links is a challenging and lovely course. The fairways have considerably more contour than most Florida courses, and the undulating greens require precision to avoid high scoring. The number of par 3's is enjoyable, and they are diverse in their shot requirements. While recently aerated and sanded, the greens rolled well. With a combination of ocean holes and woodlands, the course is highly diverse and very attractive. We enjoyed seeing racoons, gopher tortoise, and rabbits, as well as diverse aquatic birdlife.
Great Views
When I made the tee time nothing was said about the aeration of the entire course. It was the first day they reopened and it was a mess on the greens and the fairways. I should have been notified and had the opportunity to cancel the round.
I drove over an hour to play this course while on vacation at $92 a round I was highly disappointed.
The View from the five ocean front holes was beautiful however not worth the money when the course is in such bad shape.
some great holes
Unique course. 12 or so really good holes and about 6 great holes. Course is in OK shape, but greens were good. Definitely enjoyable to play.
Good course
Had a great time with my son. Was hot (90's), but no beverage cart. We played at 3:48 PM. They did have water every 4 or 5 holes, but would have appreciated some beverages since you don't come back to the club house after nine. Tough course and enjoyed it as much as the Oak Marsh course. Hope staff fixes this beverage problem or installs a drink/snack machine somewhere after #9.
Great course .. ocean vistas are beautiful
We saw the course featured on Big Break Florida and had to play in when we took a vacation in the area. It was everything we expected and more. The staff is super friendly, and the course is perfect for a high handicapper like me. Wide fairways for the tee shots, with challenging green complexes with traps to ensure good accuracy on the approaches. No real trouble to contend with in terms of forced carries over water or marsh from the senior tees. I will definitely play again the next time I have a vacation in the area.
Amazing experience
The course was in great shape, the ocean views from the tee box is amazing and truly a memorable experience. Quality facility friendly staff, everything you could ask for in a vacation golf experience. Highly recommend. The only con was that the greens were very slow.
Fun long day
This course is a treat to play. Is was in great shape. A 5 hour 10 minute round on a Par 70 is a little long but I could find a lot worse places to spend 5 hours. I know the ranger's hands are a little tied when you have resort guests shelling out big bucks to stay and play there. I think the main problem is that people are not playing the correct tees here. If you not a single digit player, stay off of the golds, they will eat you alive! If you shoot over 90, swallow your pride and go to the white tees. Although the total yardage does not look like much, this course is pretty hard.
great play
this is a great course, played it for the first time and really enjoyed it not a long course actually only brought the driver out 3 times, keep it in play kind of course. would deff recommend it and look forward to playing it again
Beautiful combination of Ocean View and plenty old old trees.
Very fair golf course.Well made reasonably away from living areas.Greens and. Fairways were in good shape.Bunkers can use a little help, but not bad.
Beautiful Course - Short but Challenging
Beautiful course! Fairly short course, but challenging due to pin placement, the greens, and the wind. The best feature was the ocean-front holes. Also, great scenery when driving between holes.
Only oceanfront course near Jax.
Worth the money to go play an oceanfront course that had some pretty challenging holes. greens seemed a little bit slow but maybe that was due to the recent rain. a few of the tee boxes were recently sodded making them patchy and unsavory. However all in all the course was in very good condition and overall rating deserves four stars.
