Slow play
Course is in good shape and greens are quick. Pace of play on a Saturday of 5 hours plus. Need a ranger on the course that will actually make an impact.
Great Course, Terrible Pace of Play
Made the hour long drive from Kissimmee to Deer Island CC. Impressed with the staff, layout and course conditions, with the exception of a temporary green on signature par 3. Pace of play was brutal. Waited on every shot and crawled back to the clubhouse after five frustrating hours. Great value for the money but won’t return if that’s typical snail’s pace of play. I’m guessing that’s the case if you have eight minute tee times on a challenging course. Oh well…
Challenging course providing loads of fun
Great course, possibly one of the best in the Central Florida area. Price is reasonable, staff are exceptionally friendly, and then you get the challenge of the course with plenty of water features/obstacle; bring extra balls! Even on a cold day, by Florida standards, we were greeted by several "resident" gators. Definitely a return in the future, after another investment in more golf balls!
Just a great course.
Over the years this course has changed hands several times , maybe because it doesnt make money for the owners?.i sincerley hope that the current owner sticks with it.
It is though one of the nicest courses around. Really good conditions prevail thoroughout and is a credit to the owner. What worries me is that it never too busy probably as its out of the way.
Only blemish is that the island green on the back nine is out of commission due to damage from hurricane milton and there is a tempory green some 90 yards off the tee.
Dont be put off by this. Make the ttip out, its worth it.
Course
Excellent condition and layout. Beautiful scenery and tough but great conditioned greens. Great course especially for the price.
Quality Course
Course provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities; greens were quick & true; fairways we’re in good condition however at time of playing tee boxes required cutting/maintenance; we really enjoyed playing the course unfortunately the Par 3 13th stroke index 2 had a temporary Green as the main Green had a partial collapse towards water feature which was disappointing.
Overall experience was very good and would recommend playing.
Deer Island is a good challenging golf course, very friendly staff and I would recommend course.
Tee off time 8:10am Unfortunately our (2 ball) was stuck behind 4 ball (men over 70) who were more bothered about looking for balls in every lake than playing golf. Held up from hole 2 every shot. Then they want to be your best friend at the end of the round. If only they new the word “ Etiquette” then golf would be enjoyable for everyone.Marshall’s nowhere to be seen!
FANTASTIC COURSE
ONLY ISSUE IS ONE OF THE PAR THREE ISLANDS HAVE CAVED IN AND THERE IS A TEMPORARY GREEN. GREENS ARE PERFECT , ALMOST EVERY HOLE HAS WATER AND YOULL SEE A LOT OF WILDLIFE. GREAT COURSSE TO PLAY!
Challenging course
This is a challenging and picturesque course. Played in 3.5 hours. Great value for the price.
CHALLENGING
THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY ABOUT DEER ISLAND IS DONT MISS THIS GEM ALWAYS GREST CONDOTIONS FRIENDLY WELCOME LOTS OF WATER NOT TO DRINK BUT TO SHARE YOUR GOLF BALLS GREAT LAYOUT SO GO FOR IT
Beautiful Golf Course
This was a beautiful golf course in excellent condition. Great layout.
Good testing course
Everyone was welcoming at the course and the Course was very testing and lots of interesting holes.
Deer Island
Great track. Tough in the wind. Water in play on all 18 holes. Take the sign seriously on the first tee. One of my go to courses.
Deer Island GC
Very nice design and well-maintained course. Greens were slow, Velcro like but in good shape. Layout forces you to think your way around the course.
Don’t miss
I read a few reviews saying don’t pass this course up, I agree 100%, definitely worth the trip!
Worth the drive
It's a little off the beaten track, but well worth the effort to get there. Course was in fantastic condition.
