Deer Island Country Club

One of the best courses i have ever played and will certainly be back from Scotland

Beautiful, wild and difficult as a woman, a golf island, I recommend it, A perfect day that I had fun. I will return Today the field won. I will return to the revenge.

Course and greens were in good shape. 1 temporary green 13 from storm damage. Still has a lot of mosquitoes.

The good : greens rolled true and nice . Bunkers were drained from hurricane Milton and played decent and not compacted. The dry parts of the fairways were nice .

The bad: the starter was not friendly.

There were no rangers to help keep the pace . We saw two groups of 5-some playing way ahead of us and around 5pm we saw a 9-some hit into hole 2 green together. I took a picture. It could’ve been the end of the day and it was a fun get together. Anyhow, think the other two 5-some played a major part in slowing everybody down not the 9-some . We waited on every hole to tee off . It was a 4hr 45 min round but not crazy slow. waiting on every hole wore us down a bit though.

The way the course is laid out , the holes were too close together. And the dog leg ones didn’t help either since the other players hit into our hole and vice versa . We were told there were some standing water when we booked , but to our surprise, about 4-5 holes had partial flooded fairways which was like extra hazard for my wife and myself . We are probably not coming back .

Staff, starter and ranger were nice . Tough front nine . The course was in great condition. Fairways, bunkers and greens were rolling true and fast again! we were behind a slow foursome, but the ranger talked to them and they played a little faster . Would come back !

A remote location, but we'll worth the drive at the current pricing level. The course was in good condition and it is a nice challenge. The layout is simple yet fun.

This is a challenging course and it's in great condition. Go give it a try.

Great layout and course was in excellent condition. Bring your best game , you’ll need it . Early morning check in was a breeze, staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Great deal and great golf outing.

Course is great, but hoping the new owner straightens up a few things. We were welcome by a very energetic lady and we were excited to get to our round. We got 1 bucket of balls for the special for 2 people and 2 bottles of water. We opted not to go to the range in the morning as she explained the range was a 5 minute drive. We met the starter and we were paired up even though we had requested not to so we could play at a faster pace. Through 9 holes usually a foursome should be able to play 2 hours 15 mins or 2 hours 20 mins, we were “split up” cause we played at 2 hours 7 mins asa foursome. Mind you the people calling was a 6 some who not all were playing, and they were waiting for maybe 30 seconds as we were hitting on the green when the marshal came down and continuously saying how we were behind pace.

Not only this but the marshal was even more upset that we stopped to grab a drink at the clubhouse when we only saw the cart girl 1 on hole 7 that’s it. They continued talking about “members will be upset” unless you are giving me a discount I will play regular place or I will let them play through if they have an issue.

Course conditions after the hurricanes weren’t checked, many fairways with tire tracks everywhere like 3-5 inches deep because of how wet it is. Range area is just a danger zone you have houses everywhere so don’t expect to really get a good swing and don’t miss or there goes a car window 🤣

Layout is great, water in every single hole, other than non members complaining like members the place was good to play at.

Great course. Excellent conditions. High water conditions so recommend moving up a tee box. Can’t wait to return.
