The Golf Club at The Highlands

I think this course is a great value. It is challenging and fun to play. It is well cared for and the staff is friendly and helpful.

If you live anywhere near the Richmond area you must play here. Great facilities, huge range, nice pro shop and restaurant. Course is a great layout and close. No need to drive long distance, they’re right here. Lot’s of fun holes and hills. Love playing here. Always a reasonable price too. The only thing that I could offer is perhaps yardage markers on sprinkler heads or the like.

Started the round in low 30-degree weather so greens were like sheets of ice. They would not hold even a pitching wedge and were crazy fast! Once the sun warmed them up a bit, they became a lot slower. Played the blue tees and overall layout is good. Most holes have good shape to them with some good elevation changes, fairway bunkers, and a few creeks or other water. Would recommend a cart due to some of the hills and walks between holes. Staff was friendly and allowed individual carts due to COVID, which I was glad to see. I will definitely include this course in my rotation of public options.

Course offers challenging holes and some easier, I really like the new cart paths and updated bridges.

Love the course and it is our go-to. They repaved the cart path and built new bridges. Heavily considering becoming a member, the only thing holding me back is the monthly cart fee for very poor condition carts. Often times the carts take 3 pushes on the pedal to even start up. This isn’t a one time incident, we’ve played probably over 20 times here and that experience is consistent. Regardless, this should not hold you back from playing. Still one of the best deals on golf in the Richmond metro area, and a beautifully laid out course that is well kept (even in January!)

This course just recently went semi private/open to the public and I was 30 minutes delayed because of the amount of people who live ““ on the golf course who decided to show up before my teatime that I had already paid for they put them in front of us which slowed me down couldn’t even get a full 18 in for the amount of money that I paid not worth it greens are slow and not in a good shape.

Course was in very good shape. Greens faster than normal which made the downhill putts difficult near impossible to stop. Always paired up with nice people and everyone friendly as can be.
