Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Rude staff! Sprinklers on! Never again!

First time playing on 8/25, drove from Orlando. The staff was extremely rude, especially the Starter. He’s an angry old man. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT COME HERE! They will take your money and treat you disrespectfully and make your play through the sprinklers. Save yourself the drive and play somewhere else!

Dear recent golfer - please accept our apologies, it is highly unusual for Mission Inn to receive a poor review. We have briefed our starters and grounds crew. Please contact our Golf Director to discuss further. Hope to see you return.

Tougher than expected

Play Las Colinas on a Saturday morning. The course was more challenging than El Campeon. condition of the course was excellent. Very tight off the tee on some holes. Course was very wet due to overnight rain but course was in decent shape. Would return to play again under drier conditions

Good (mostly)

We were able to tee off earlier than our scheduled time to beat the weather, the staff at the front desk and the starter were very friendly and accommodating. The practice facility is very nice, big driving range, chipping green, and putting practice green. The parking lot is shaded, too, so your car isn’t 500 degrees at the end of the round. The course was in great shape, all the way through, tee boxes, fairways, and greens. The layout is challenging, but fair for the most part. There are a few tight holes off the tee, but nothing crazy. The greens weren’t lightening fast, but weren’t slow either. I actually enjoyed the speed, you could put a confident stroke on the putt, but you could also get into trouble if you got too aggressive. We had no one in front or behind the whole way, so our pace of play was not an issue at all. My only issue was on the back nine, a maintenance crew member suddenly appeared on the green ahead of us, driving round and round in a cart on the green pulling a big brush dragging the sand around the green (the course has been aerated about two weeks prior). We had to wait for him to do this on several holes. This was at like 12:30 pm, the middle of the day. I’ve never had this happen before anywhere else, it was very bizarre. He never acknowledged us, just went about his business as if it were 6 am with no one playing the course. The only other small issue was the bathrooms outside the pro shop were a wreck, like no one had checked on them in a couple of days, and the girl working the bar inside seemed genuinely disgruntled, like she hated her job and the other servers present. I’m sure she’s really a nice person,, but it was apparent that she really didn’t like being there for some reason. The food was really good, though!

Rude staff, sandy Greens

First an last time playing here. Starter should retire if he can’t do his job. Staff not friendly at all. Guess due to this being a resort. Greens were not good. Sandy and bumpy. Fairways ok. Not too challenging. Glad payed all amount. Won’t be back.

Disappointed

First and last time playing the Las Collinas course today. Was very disappointed that no one said anything that the greens were just recently punched. Strictly came to this course for the usual pure conditions and it was far from that today. Mind blowing to me that El Campéon is the same price or close to it as Las Colinas. Only stayed to play 9 holes after paying for 18. The course was just that disappointing. Staff was friendly until they seen I was upset about the course conditions, in which nobody seemed to care. Had to skip around every other hole practically because pace of play was dreadful. There was no ranger monitoring pace of play, and it didn’t help that none of the groups would let single or twosomes play through(which isn’t the courses fault). Just an overall disappointing experience. Could’ve stayed closer to home and paid half the price for the same conditions!

Worth it

First time on Las Colinas and it did not disappoint. Very friendly and helpful staff all around! The course is in really good condition. Mission does a terrific job managing both of their courses. Looking forward to another round soon. Keep up the great work! Fellow golfers; please fill in or repair your divots to help keep these courses in the shape they’re in. It only takes a second and it goes a LONG way for the condition of the grass.

Nice layout

Very playable. Good looking course - some of the best fairways, lightening fast greens. Friendly staff. 4.5hrs round. I would definitely play again. Nice to see a lot of trees on a course..

Always a Great Value

Played on a Monday morning at 9:44, no one in front of us or behind us, we had the course to ourselves. Condition was excellent as always. My only gripe about this course is that their are two stupid holes on the back. One is a par four really sharp dogleg left that to hit driver you have to go over a very tall oak tree that is too close to the t-box. The second is a par 3 that you literally have to go thru an oak tree to get to the pin on the right side of the green. The oaks on both holes either have to be removed or dramatically trimmed back. Otherwise a very fair but demanding course that is always in great shape.

Great other than the Locals

The course was great, be wary of putt speed going with or against the grain as they are crazy different. I would totally play again.
