Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Terrible pace of play
Played the other course last year, and really enjoyed it. However played the Las Colinas course today and the course was overbooked to breaking point. Far too many groups and no marshals until later in the day, when it was too late. Played only 16 holes in 5 hours 20 minutes, and lost the will to live with the constant delays and line of 3 groups on each tee. The number of tee times should be carefully allocated to avoid these situations.
Real Nice !!
Mission Inn is worth every penny. Greens were receptive but yet true and quick. For a twosome, we got stuck behind several foursomes who were playing team competitions and it was slow. Fairways were well kept as well as areas in and around the greens. It’s no wonder it’s been rated highly by Golf Digest. A must when in the Orlando area.
Nice course. definitely worth the drive to get there
Can't go wrong with this course for $50 (or less during certain times of the year). Always in great shape.
Nice course, recommended.
Other than a foursome in front of me I had the course pretty much to myself on a Friday morning. The foursome waived me through with no issues so it was great to see some old fashion course courtesy. The beverage cart attendants were friendly and not too hard to find; a good thing on a hot day. The only real complaint I have is one I have noted on many courses over these last few years, bunker maintenance is lacking. I cannot remember the last course I played where it was apparent that the bunkers got turned or raked daily, maybe Kapalua a couple of years ago. Be prepared, there is A LOT of distance between some of the holes. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. So truly, other than the note on the bunkers (I played into 5 and parred 4 of them so, they didn't hurt me anymore than I hurt myself), I have no complaints, enjoyed the course and look forward to an opportunity to play the Capeon course on my next visit.
Nice Course
The course is in good shape and the day was perfect for golf. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely play here again.

challenging! thanks for being on golfnow or i would never have found you. LC 18th hole--- no yardage on my approach shot!? Most other holes were great: 5 7 12 beautiful weird holes: 14&15 but did par both holes
Mission Inn
A very nice course, especially for the price. We were the only golfers seen all day. Greens were in good condition and lightening quick. A challenging layout. I’d definitely come back.
Great course layout!
The course was amazing! Course conditions were great all around. Friendly staff was very accommodating. Pace of play was a little slow but that was mainly because we were a twosome and the group’s in front of us were all foursomes. Still had a very enjoyable round of golf!
Excellent Greens
Course was in excellent condition, from tee to green. We enjoyed it every bit as much as El Campion. Good pace of play, staff was friendly and accommodating, wish I could play out here every day.
Always first class!
The experience at Mission Inn is always great!
The staff are always professional and engaging
Regardless of what time of year the courses are always in great shape
Overall Superior Conditions .
Best course in Lake County. Greens, fairways and tee boxes. Well placed shots are rewarded. But don’t get greedy and take chances in the narrow pines lining almost every hole. Take your lumps because as tight as the course can get another opportunity awaits the patient.
Nice day of golf
The course is challenging but that just makes it interesting. The course is in great shape and the greens are running consistent. Nice day of golf!
What superb Golf should be..
Having ready many of the reviews, both positive and not so positive, I wanted to post my un-biased opinion in comparison to the recent reviews by others...
Several people complained about sprinklers and that was our experience also. that being said, the areas being sprinkled were areas under repair and not the course itself. Some of the tees were blocked, so we simply played the next available tee. it really isn't worth getting upset about..
Course - First Impression:
In a word, Stunning. This course is flat our gorgeous. The condition of the course was something we are not used to, especially in the Florida area. It was simply superb condition, the fairways were perfectly manicured and a pleasure to play on.
Wow is all I can say. A day of truly excellent golf, and we had the place to ourselves most of the day. It was a day we will remember as you dont usually get a place in this condition to yourself.
Staff:
having read some of the comments regarding staff, I was honestly a bit concerned. We experienced nothing but friendly, helpful staff, from the young man at the starter area, who explained everything to us so we had no issues at all. We even had a nice chat with one of the cart staff after the round.
We went in for a beer afterwards and again, wow. this place is just a beautiful setting to be able to enjoy a cold drink and see the views of the course. Elegant but not at all snotty to us.
We ran into one of the owners, a lovely lady named Donna, who engaged us in a brief conversation about the course, the history etc. She was such a lovely down to earth lady who capped off what was one of the most pleasant golf outings we have seen in years. She was genuinely curious about our experience and its clear she cares very much about the experience people have at their resort.
We have lived locally in Tavares for many years but never had the opportunity to play here. That was our loss. We are so impressed from start to finish.
Please, do yourself a favor and visit this (actually 2) stunning courses. It is the very best ive seen in playing golf in Florida.
Thanks to the lovely staff, and we will certainly be back..
Tedious attitude spoiled it.
Played as a threesome and was made to wait until exactly our starting time even though the course was very quiet and the tee box was free for 20 minutes before our time. The starter claimed it was because someone else had booked to play with us but that person never showed. Other players that had booked to play El Campeon with golfnow were experiencing the same issue even though the first tee on that course was also free. As someone who has played here many times and been fullsome in my praise for how this facility is run I found the whole experience embarrassing.
It is 60 minutes drive to this course from where we are staying and I have found much better hospitality and value for money nearer to Orlando at this time of year. Course nice but disappointing experience.
Must Play
Central Florida is littered with golf courses that are flat and lacking character. When you get a chance to play a course that has some elevation changes and character that is in great shape, don't let it slip by. Los Colinas and its sister course, El Campeon are worth the drive. Both are must play courses if you're visiting or live in central Florida.
We apologize for your negative experience. We strive for a 4 1/2 pace, however this is not always achievable with some more social golf outings. We hope you return.
