Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course

Had a 3 some 2 groups in front of us playing the blue tees, red tees were out of their range. 2 some in front of us watched to much tv as their skill level didn’t match their ego. We were looking forward to this round for weeks and they ruined it. 4:30 hours and we only got 16 holes in rain washed us out. Players need to be told to keep pace and play to their ability, we will be back but, hopefully things get better. Thanks greg

Course was in mint condition. It is a difficult but fair course. The elevation changes on several holes were severe. Greens were fast but rolled true. I love this course and will play it again.

Course was in good shape. The only annoying issue was that the maintenance crew kept spraying water on the greens while I was in the fairway on several holes and I had to wait for them to get their hoses off of the green before I could hit my approach shot. On the 17th green I hit my approach shot onto the green and the maintenance guy came out of nowhere and started to spray the green while my ball was still on the green.

I booked through Golf now and was unable to make early tee time for single. I attempted to contact but no answer on phone. Next communication was email stating i will be billed for no show. I find itis difficult to believe my no show impacted their revenue which required billing me for having an emergency. I will not be using either golf now or this course.

Two courses to play. El Campion being the ome where Symetra, McKenzie, college etc. tournaments are played. Right now in great shape. Will test you in many ways. Elevated fairways & greens, challenging par 3's over water, dogleggs, fairway & greenside bunkers. Fast true greens. Big trees strategically placed on fairways. You will use every club in your bag. You will love the challenge.

This was my second time at El Campeon and it is worth it. The course history and elevations make it a must play in Florida. Memorable holes all around. The course was in excellent summer condition. You expect slower greens and wet conditions in September. The staff got us out earlier than expected which was a plus. Though I have never stayed, Mission Inn would be a great stay/play golf destination.

I have been playing Mission Inn for over twenty years and love the challenge. I would love to give my round five stars but cannot due to the fact that there was NO WATER on the course and no one informed us of this prior to our round. All of the water fountains and restroom had the water turned off. Not only is this a dehydration hazard in 90 plus degree temperatures it is a heath hazard as the toilets could not be flushed and where full of human waste. Other than that the course was fun but the greens where extremely slow.

Top 10 layout central Florida. Greens mostly healed but slow. Drainage fix on 1 and 18 are WAY overdue.

Fair, somewhat tough course from any tee. Elevation changes play with club selection. A miss in some places can lead to big numbers... like on 17. Lay WAY back on your 2nd shot or it's over. Always in great shape.

Went off at 8 had 10 groups in front of us...6 holes 2hrs...and a 5 ball in the front of the pack...

Greens had spots....fairways thick...

Course in Fantastic condition, staff and golfers we very friendly and helpful.

Course is challenging, good T-shot into fairways can still be obstructed in not strategically placed on the correct side of the fairway, like hole #1. Perfect T-shot right down the middle, only problem is there is a tree in the middle of the fairway with clear shots to either the left or right... well I was directly behind about 5 yrds, so no other option but to punch, and I was in the middle of the fairway. Several other hole presented semilunar situations. Be concise of decisions as they can come back to haunt you.

OVERALL - Fantastic Round of Golf, Highly Recommend.

Course is great course. Really nice layout. But some of the fee’s i think are ridiculous. A ride along was $25. Then i asked to replay and replay fee was $45 plus tax and that was for just 9 holes.. i paid $62 for first 18 i played.

My son and I have played 43 courses this year and El Campeon is truly the champion. Stunning vistas, amazing elevation, beautiful landscaping, surrounded by stunning architecture. What a gem! A must play by anyone who loves the game.

Couldn’t have been a better day of golf at El Campeon! The staff was very friendly the minute I got to the course, the course was in great shape, even for being recently punched, and as always the layout and overall play was fantastic. The price was even very reasonable, especially compared to nearby courses that are in much worse conditions. Will always want to come back and play this challenging, but exciting, course!
