Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course

We had an early (7am) tee time. There was a large group (tournament) going off shotgun at 7:30. I was not told about this when I booked my tee time and was very worried I would get caught behind the tournament and be in for a dreadfully slow round. Thankfully, the course staff started the tournament groups off far enough ahead where we never came close to catching any of them. Hats off to the course staff for ensuring the tournament play did not affect the early groups. Will be back again!

We arrived early and were told by the starter if we played fast he would let us go out first. We were able to play a three hour round.

Greens were healthier than I remember them being in January. Greens putted slower than I remember but they are very fair. Fairways and bunkers were good with no issues.

One of my favorite courses and I still enjoy playing it.

This was my first time playing this course. The course layout was great and very challenging. The conditions were not too good just because they had just recently aerated the entire course (greens, fairways, tee boxes, rough). Other than the bad conditions because everything was aerated and the greens were being sanded while I was playing, the course is great.

I loved the course layout. The course is very challenging. The greens are well protected by bunkers, elevation changes and overhanging trees. The greens are small and challenging. I was VERY surprised at how much elevation changes there are at the course. The course is a fantastic old school course (small greens, narrow fairways, lots of large, pretty trees). The are lots of large old oak trees with lots of spanish moss. I highly recommend the course, I just wish the conditions were better the day I played.

I’d put Mission Inn’s El Campeon up there with the best in Florida. Every hole is framed beautifully, there is not let up, always in pristine condition. You have to hit Golf shots all round, leave your B game at home.

I lived in Florida for years before finally playing El Campeon...my loss! This is absolutely one of the finest golf courses - anywhere! Sand and water, yes, but also hills and greens that are challenging to read. I'm glad I live close enough that I can now play it regularly.

This is a great golf course the difficulty is enough to make you work for your score.

A real gem. Great lay out. Very challenging course. Greens in great shape. A clear must play.

This place top notch from check in to check out , the staff were friendly and helpful to make your play memorable one. The coarse was in great shape considering all the rain. This coarse is enjoyable to play and not to mention all the beautiful scenery.

Great time great course. Only big complaint is the greens have not fully recovered from the aeration. Overall great time. Mission in is always worth 40$.

Excellent day playing El Campeon. Great layout. Doesn’t fell like Florida. Greens are good for time of year.

I was booked on the wrong course(harder Campeon) and still had a blast! Was not overwhelming from the white tees. Can't wait to get back and score better. GRAB THE BEER CART WHEN YOU CAN B/C this layout does not run back by the proshop after nine.

All was great except for the greens. The geeens are nkt back to 100% id say they are at 70% still a great time playing today wkll not keep me away. I will be back.
