About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

Very nice round
Even with the cold rainy day I enjoyed playing at one of my favorite courses
Very good public course
Have been staying in Jacksonville for some time. On business. Have played several courses and this is the first one I want to play more often. Unfortunately we played during a play day. So a lot of first time golfers slowed play considerably but even with that we had a great day. You definitely have to play here if you are able.

My weekly course
I play this course every Monday and it is fun and challenging. The number 2& 14 hole tee boxes always need work and the greens are different speeds. Par 3 tee boxes should be the best since you only get 3 strokes. There the worst on 2 & 14. Need the greens to be the same speed.

Stagger start times
Pace of play in the mornings at Bent Creek is ALWAYS so slow! Just a suggestion , for the first 2 hours let one group go off the front 9 and the next group go off the back 9....this would greatly increase the speed of play on the weekends.
The course itself is beautiful , maintained well and fun to play.

A Pleasant Surprise
I played here a few years back and the greens were crazy slow and bumpy, so we stayed away for a few years. We decided to give it another try and it was a great decision. The greens are not the fastest but they roll true, and the rest of the course is on par with the other higher-end daily fee courses in the area, but for a fraction of the cost. Many of those courses require a 30-40 minute drive outside of Jax, but Bent Creek is a decent course in the city proper. The layout is fun, with some legitimately difficult holes (9, and especially 11) but it makes for a nice mix. My only qualm is I'd like to see one of the par 5's OR one of the short par 4's (5 and 12) shortened a tad to play as a risk-reward hole to serve as a foil for those 2 super-hard holes. I'm picking nits though: this course is one of the best deals in town. Oh, and pace of play is stellar.

Steady value.
The greens and fairways where in great shape. Hard scape and cart paths are showing their age. Bumpy ride in places. Play pace was great. Friendly place overall and a good golf value. The layout is fun with some good challenging 4s and 5s. I have played this course many times and always had a decent golf experience.

Improve the greens
The greens had little shrubs growing on them. Other than that it’s a nice little course. Price is a bit high for what you get but it’s nothing that I wouldn’t do again.

course review
The greens were extremely slow even on downhill rolls. Overall layout of the course is fine, but tough to score with such slow greens. Several of the fairway bunkers were missing rakes. The staff including the starter were friendly.

Bent Creek
This is the third time I have played Bent Creek and it's always a fun place to tee it up. The staff is very helpful. Tom was our started and rather than just telling me I was next in the tee and that I would be joining a twosome, he took the effort to introduce me by name to the other two gentlemen before we went to the tee. I thought that was a classy touch.
The course is in good shape. Greens were the best I’ve seen them. But the tee boxes were trash on a couple holes and were not very level on several occasions. Nothing like hitting driver with the ball above it below your feel thru no fault of your own. Other that that conditions were excellent.
For a round of golf for under $30, ya can’t beat the value!

Tee times
Seem that tee times are non existent, people just jump to the first tee whenever they want. Water levels are low and so the swamp gasses are strong.

Course in better shape than the past
Course was in good shape.... Greens were a little on the slow side and the fairways need some work, but overall the our outing on the course was not bad.
The pace of play was good not crowded at all... we were able to beat the bad weather coming in and the starter allowed us to go out early.
We really appreciated your group playing our course.
The course has really started to green up after all this rain.
Hope to see you back soon.
Ranger needed
This course has greatly improved!, but they need a ranger to keep pace of play. Today had walkers and that should never be on a Saturday morning start.

A nice 3 holes
Then it started to pour . The 3 holes we played were great, nice course and very friendly staff. Will definitely go back, worth the drive.

Great course; please tell mowers to shut off mowers and move out the way when I’m about to hit the golf ball!!
