About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

Course will be okay in a few weeks. Not now however
Greens were resodded recently. The grass is really high on the greens. Slowest I’ve ever played (think fairway length) fairways were in good condition. Couple of tee boxes could use work (over grown grass on tee boxes where you’d use an iron. Similar to hitting from the rough)
Greens are growing in nicely however, they may be nice in a month or so. Wouldn’t golf here until then
Nice day
Course was in decent shape except the greens were being worked on and took a few two putts. Field distances weren't up so unless you have the course book or digital watch (which we did, could be a bit tricky). Fairways were decent and tee boxes were fine. I like the variety of holes on this course.

Bent Creek going downhill
Greens are bad. Worst I have ever seen them. Significant work needs to be done to get this course back into the shape I remember it to be. Used to be one of the best courses in Jacksonville. Not any more.

Great layout
I've played this course a few times and it has a nice challenging layout. Due to some work and re sodding of the green, it wasn't in the best shape for this particular round. The pace of play was slower partially because of what I think was a tournament going on. Overall a nice course.

Ugh
Front 9 was closed. Played the back 9 twice. If we would have known we would have not played. Usually this course in in good condition. They are losing the greens and the fairways are very dry. Tee boxes are in bad shape. This course is highly over played and in need of attention. I know they are working on it. Just give them until fall

Garbage
Front nine of course was closed, no advertisement at all until I got to the course. Greens were in worse shape I have ever seen. Definitely not worth the money

Greens were in really bad shape again
Last time I played here a few years ago the greens were in rough shape (aerated and sanded in) and once again they were in really rough shape. The rest of the course was in decent shape. Some tee boxes were needing work and the fairways had a few dead spots. I've enjoyed this course over the years and it seems like they've had issues with the greens over the last few years. Was told they had disease cpl yrs back and had torn up the chipping area to repair greens on course. Practice areas are usually in good shape. For the area, it's a decent course for the price.

So many better courses in Jax for the $$
The course was in bad shape. The first and fifth hole had the flag on the fairway and not on the green because of renevations. Should have done that for the whole front nine because every green on the front nine was in terrible condition. There are barely any markers showing distances. Only on a few holes did they mark the 150, and they did it with spray painting it on the fairway. I paid $27. You can definitely find a much better course in Jax for the same amount of money.

Tee to Green
The greens need to be replaced. This isn’t not a good time to be playing golf at bent creek.

Needs work
Every green was bad. Really needs work. Fairways and rough ok. Some wet spots. Course needs a do over on the greens . All 18 had bear spots and some kind of fungus. They better do something before course becomes unplayable.

Purse condition
The greens are the worst I’ve ever seen! They say nothing to you when you pay and they are still charging full price to play! I would definitely recommend that you play somewhere else! I just don’t know how to express how bad the greens are! Temporary greens cut in the middle of the fairway would be better to play on!

The course needs Help!!
Played around 1230 behind a foursome pace of play was super slow. The greens were in horrible shape along with the tee boxes. Most of the greens looked like there was a fungus throughout. Sand traps were ok but needed work. I will not play this course again until at least summer time to see if it has improved. Right now I don't recommend this course to anyone the condition it is in. I was very disappointed. !!

PACE OF PLAY
The course is in good shape and the staff is very friendly. Hole is always in bad shape no matter what time of the season it is. The last few times have been over crowded and that makes the pace of play very slow. The starter is not always available. Today we were behind a threesome, while on the green they putted for a combine total of 12 times, not to mention it took them about twelve minutes to even reach the green another ten minutes on the green. We finally decided to go around them and the game speeded up. Not a good day at BC.

Over booked
When a group show up late for their tee time they should not be allowed to get in front of a group that was on time. Ranger need to enforce pace of play. Par 3’s need grass on the tee boxes except hole 16. It’s a fun challenging course except when you have to wait on every hole and get out of rythem and play bad.
