Palmetto Golf Course
About
Palmetto Golf Course gets its name from the beautiful palmetto trees that line the fairways and meandering waterways. Although they add to the scenery, the trees double as a challenging element of the course since they can also affect shots. The golf course was designed by Dick Wilson, who has designed many other courses in the area. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes of the course, including the notable signature hole, which a 435-yard par-4. There are also sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. The Palmetto Golf Course facility boasts lighted practice facilities, including a practice putting green and driving range.

Papa & grandson (14) outing
The price I put in reflects rental clubs for both of us, box of balls and a glove so it was reasonable & grandson is a youth on course member We're from Maine so anything above 75 is hot to us. Overall, we had a great time, course was in great shape imo, and pace of play was pretty good until the end , slow group ahead of the two of us. The staff in all areas from pro shop to starter and food service was outstanding. Very friendly and accommodating. Course was challenging , but not overly so. I would recommend playing this course for sure.
Stay away do not get ripped off
We rented 3 sets of golf clubs. The quality of the clubs was terrible. The driver head went flying, separating cleanly from the shaft, on three separate clubs. They ended up charging us almost 800 dollars on top of the original fee. I think this is a scam. They charge as much if the clubs get damaged as if you lose the clubs. I will bet you they do some shoddy repair for $50 and then place them right back in for the next loser to get scammed. I told them - if they are lost then give them to me, I will take them and throw them away so at least the next patron gets a new club. They refused. I ended up spending $1100+ for 3 people. I will never play there again as long as I live.
Palmetto golf course conditions
Nice course with GPS carts.
Price is average for the area.
Party of 6 guys ahead of me
When I made the staff aware they just limited to ask them to play fast. Unacceptable. At the end, I spoke with the chief ranger and he said that they were playing at a fast pace. Totally not true. They finish their round in 4 hours 45 minutes
Never Again
The starter let his friends who didn’t have a tee time cut in front of my tee time. It created an absolute clusterfuck. He then asked my group to skip to hole #2 (despite us being there ahead of our tee time). When we got to hole #2 we found this just happened to another group. The starter drove out and asked us to come back to hole #1. If this sounds confusing, I promise it was even worse in person.
On top of the starter being incompetent, the front 9 took 3 hours. I walked off after 9 and will never step foot on this course again.
Average conditions. Worth the money (it was a hot deal tee time from GolfNow)
Average fairways, nice greens, very polite guy in the stater position. Slow pace of play. Awful service at the bar/restaurant.. Tried to buy some snacks and beverages when going from 9th hole to 10th, 3 people at the counter and nobody came to take my order. Had to leave with empty hands to avoid impacting the pace of play.
Bad Rules Enforcement
A party of 6 people was ahead of mine. They were sig significantly slowing the pace.
I made the course head ranger and he said that there was not much else they could do other than telling them not to do it.
He also justify them saying they played the round in 4.5 hours. First of all that isn’t tru as they took close to 5 hours and second even 4.5 hours is too much.
Palmetto
Tee times start 8 min apart then go to 5 min apart which backs the course up like crazy! Not a bad course but obviously money grabbing trying to stack up tee times. Makes it unenjoyable to the golfer who plays there consistently
Nice Layout , condition needs help
Course needs maintenance improvements, weeds throughout course which impedes grass growth. Course not a value for the money. The greens were in nice condition. Fairways need help.
Not Good-Horrendous Value
Miami-Dade thinks more of itself than the reality that exists. Just because “Miami” is in the name doesn’t mean you can charge Miami rates. Greens were decent enough, staff is friendly but the golf is horrendous.
There is no way to tell when the fairway meets the rough when the long Bermuda grass and dollar weeds are ever present everywhere. How it is even legal to pay $90/round for such bad fairways is unknown to me.
I am a Miami resident and not a tourist and been on every course in Miami. This is comparable to Shula’s Par 3 after it was abandoned.
No rangers on the course either to keep play moving.
Disappointing say to say the least.
Save your money.
The worst
TEE Time at 12h with 8 kids in front us with no regards of pace of play and no marshall on the ground. 80$ non refundable quit after 9 homes in 2h30.
Worst Course in Miami
I’ve played this course for years. They went through some renovations over the last 2 years. I guess in their mind that justifies DOUBLING the price. I promise you… it absolutely does not. Before shelling out $100 to play here, please realize this course used to be less than $50 to play in the morning in the weekend. Unless you enjoy a 5+ hour round, hitting balls off fairways full of dry patches and dirt, teeing off from God awful tee boxes, and putting on greens with weeds every other inch, do NOT play here.
There is 0 redeeming quality to the golf course. Other than the Sports Grille that’s on the property. Save yourself from experiencing the horrible conditions, pace of play, and grab yourself some special grille wings. That’s the only reason to ever visit Palmetto Golf Course nowadays.
It’s sad to see how poor this course has become. It used to be a great place for locals to play, catch quick twilight rounds for a good price, and enjoy some great food afterwards. If you’re looking for a tee time and consider this course please take my words into account. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. No matter how hard you want to play golf. Hit the range, or hit some balls in your backyard. I promise, you’re better off that way. If I could give this less than 1 star I would.
