Palmetto Golf Course
About
Palmetto Golf Course gets its name from the beautiful palmetto trees that line the fairways and meandering waterways. Although they add to the scenery, the trees double as a challenging element of the course since they can also affect shots. The golf course was designed by Dick Wilson, who has designed many other courses in the area. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes of the course, including the notable signature hole, which a 435-yard par-4. There are also sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. The Palmetto Golf Course facility boasts lighted practice facilities, including a practice putting green and driving range.

Good all round course
Plenty of water hazards, good greens and tee box's
Dog Track
This course may be the ugliest in America. Fairways were terrible. Greens were in good condition. Trees were dying or dead. Concrete bridges were mildewed and rusted. With the lack of courses in So Miami area, why don't they close this down and renovate the whole course? You could charge more money for the rounds and it would be a tremendously better experience. This is a real dog track.
Palmetto Golf Course
I've played this course several times over the last 40 years. It was probably in the worst shape I've seen ever. Greens were good but fairways and tee boxes were poor. This is a real dog track. The course needs to be closed and renovated, it is way past its prime.
If you get it cheap worth it.
Nothing in this course is good, tee box poor, fairway poor, greens ok but with sand in them, actually bunkers good. Next to course is a kiddy playground so keep eyes on the fairway for wondering toddlers. Pace of play is sloooow and the staff will tell you they are not going to hurry anyone, there bread and butter is beginners. If you play here, play only weekdays before noon to avoid the random weekend and after school daycare kids walking around from the next door, adjacent, putt putt. The staff is great, food great. Ps come early because they will not have your golfnow reservation in the system they call it in. Still played for the price of a L bucket o balls, so can't complain too much when its cheap.
Bang for your buck
Twilight price great for course shape. Had a beautiful day, no rain.
Palmetto
I heard this course was renovated a few months ago and wanted to play it a second time. The greens were beautiful, looks like the bunkers were redone as well. Tee boxes were in fair condition, the fairways were in terrible condition. Do'n't play this course unless you like to hit your fairway shots from weeds, dead grass and dirt or mud. This was my second and last time playing this course.
Great and terrible.
So this is an odd review to write. First the good... The staff are the friendliest and most helpful I have EVER come across. And not just "nice for Miami", but anywhere. From the guy in the pro shop to Bob the starter, the ranger and the girl in the grill, they were all really nice and very helpful. They alone made me want to possibly come back at some point. Also, the new greens and bunkers were in great shape. Ok, now the bad. The fairways are so bad that you barely notice the great greens and bunkers. I am very good at making greens in regulation and barely did all morning because of the horrid fairways. They are quite possibly the worse I have seen anywhere and are nearly unplayable. The layout if pretty average, but could be enjoyable enough if they could get the fairways under control. Nothing "fair" about them. I hope the next time I am in Miami they will have that fixed because the people there are SO nice that I would like to support their course.
Tired fairways
It was a beautiful Satruday morning with friendly staff greeting us at the pro shop. The greens were in excellent shape, the sand traps were sandy and soft and the tee boxes were in relatively good shape. The fairways, did not complement the value of this course. They have deteriorated quickly, with the clay eating through the fairway grass that was planted a short time ago. The staff at the 19th hole are very friendly and the food is pretty good with something for everone.
Very poor fairways
The course is generally in pretty rough shape. Most if the fairways are hard pan. The greens have been redone and are quite nice.
Wings in the restaurant are great
Staff are very friendly
Home course
This course was renovated last year. The Greens are in good shape but the fairways are terrible and several tee boxes are wanting. I don't know what it is but this course has problems that no one can seem to solve. Fairways on #4 and #8 - cart paths only on these holes but the fairways are terrible. Obviously they have drainage problems here and you would think that they would have addressed them last year when the course was closed. Forget about manicuring around the greens, from bare lies to rough and about 4 different types of grasses growing making up and down play rather difficult as it is pot luck when you miss the green. New sand in bunkers so play is not easy.
Incredible greens; horrible fairways
The greens and bunkers were renovated in the summer of 2013 and are in great shape. The fairways, on the other hand, are the worst fairways I've ever played. They're either dry or muddy, depending on the hole, and you must clean and place your ball to make it at least playable if you're in the middle of the fairway. Overall, the price matches the conditions, but if they put money into the fairways and increased the price, the course would play amazing. The layout is challenging and the course plays pretty long.
Not worth the money
The greens are excellent, but that's it. The fairways are very sub-par. I won't choose to play here again. The course was supposedly renovated but that was smoke and mirrors.
Moderate
Slow, poor fairways.
Ok for 17 usd but not more. Fairways are very poor condition, greens not cut, hence very slow
Good but the pace I played was slow
Good course, definitely need to try to challenge the layout and your patience.
Snails pace
Played this course on superbowl sunday- unable to complete 9 holes in 3 hours, left before finishing as did 2 other groups waiting behind us. Paid a special rate for this weekend, would have preferred to play normal green fee and had 1/2 as many people on course. Doubt that staff can sustain new upgrades put into this course w/ volume like this.
Management issues
I asked if I could tee off about a half hour early because there were so few people on the course. They said "no" and I accepted that. But then I had four different people tell me that I was playing on a free round because it was a "hot deal." It wasn't free for me, but they were dismissive and gave me the feeling that I shouldn't be there. I like the course, and I look for good deals. This is the first time this kind of attitude was ever presented to me. I won't let this one time discourage my use of Golf Now or even playing at this course, but I sure hope they aren't this way in the future. I got the feeling that they think they get no benefit from Golf Now and wish they weren't a part of the program.
Most of the staff was very nice to me, but I could tell the management sent out the word that "hot deals" are freebies. Even if they are, they should welcome "hot deal golfers" with open arms.
Good greens
Excellent price, course condition are good, the course is challenging ,water hazards make it challenging
A MUST GO!!!
Great course. Recently renovated. Well maintained.
