Palmetto Golf Course

About
Palmetto Golf Course gets its name from the beautiful palmetto trees that line the fairways and meandering waterways. Although they add to the scenery, the trees double as a challenging element of the course since they can also affect shots. The golf course was designed by Dick Wilson, who has designed many other courses in the area. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes of the course, including the notable signature hole, which a 435-yard par-4. There are also sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. The Palmetto Golf Course facility boasts lighted practice facilities, including a practice putting green and driving range.

Great course will be back
Greens were in great shape and the course was fun. I will definitely be going back. Pace was slow due to the foursome ahead of us but beyond that it was good time and the course was in very good condition.
Good layout but poor management
The course is always in okay condition, always a lot of weeds. Greens have a lot of weeds too with some greens having a good amount of bare spots but to be expected with a Public course. My main complaint is the starter not doing a good job. (Older gentleman) Refuses to send people to the back 9 (which is empty )to start when the front 9 is backed up cause a huge backup. Not sure why he does this but last few times it has been the same older gentleman, this seems to happen.
Greens need some work, it’s in better shape than it used to be.
I used to live in Miami and I am familiar with this course I was in town to meet family They installed new greens maybe 4 years ago and they are not looking good, weak and full of weeds.
Tees, fairways and slopes all weedy
Had a great round. Greens rolled fast, fairways in good shape. Pace was good. Back and forth layout means errant balls end up in other fairways. Sometimes have to wait for fairway to clear. A little pricey compared to previous pricing.
Rough shape for the price
A lot of the holes didn’t even have a fairway. The rough and the area where the fairway was supposed to be were the same. Especially on the beautiful par 5 hole 18. Whole “fairway” was long crabgrass
Condition underwhelming
Greens bad and inconsistant. Fairways not kept and shaggy. Golf carts foolishly restricted. Overpriced.
Not an enjoyable day.
Upside, staff very nice and accommodating.
Terrible experience
Rude staff Range has mats and no distance flags were out. Course is not worth the price. Always regret going here but it’s closest one to my house. Prefer walking nine at briar bay. Nicer staff and in better shape.
