1 & 10 at University Park Country Club

Awesome course absolutely enjoyed this only problem we were unfortunate to have a husband and wife ahead of us who thought it a good idea to coach his wife while we were all standing and waiting behind

As far as golf goes fantastic challenge really need to know where to place your shots or trouble will find you single figure handicap shouldn’t play less than blue

The course in phenomenal shape. A tad slow on the front 9, but seemed to split tee times up between the other two courses on the back which sped up play significantly. Will certainly come back for more rounds in the future.

Had tried to play in 2020 and was unable to due to the pandemic. Very glad I made another trip and was able to play.

Just a great day of golf, be back in a couple of days.

University, designed by Ron Gnarl has been the premier course in Sarasota since 1996. I wish I’d been an enthusiast of the game since then. Although I’m not a member, me and my friends look to play University as often as possible. It’s challenging yet playable for high handicap players and highly skilled players as well. Members, retired ,and wealthier players take advantage of the earlier tee times, but there are still many opportunities for others to enjoy this excellent course.

The staff is welcoming from the moment you arrive. Everyone treats us nicely as if we were members. Great folks on a perfectly maintained course always has us anxious to return.

There is no posted pace of play policy. Marshaling is very subjective.

Our foursome completed our round in 3.5 hours, yet we were rudely pushed by the staff to “keep up with the group in front of us.”

A) there was no group in front of us.

B) there was no group behind us waiting.

I’ve never been treated so rude anywhere in the service industry.

I will never play there again.

I’ve told everyone I know about this encounter and have suggested they do not play UPCC.

Overpriced for the condition of the fairways and aerated greens. Booked through golf now and it was not listed on the site. I wouldn't have played had I known and would advise everyone to call before booking this course to check on the greens and fairways.

On pace for a 5 1/2 hour round. Greens were punched recently and fairways were super dried up. Course was ok to play but the pace of play was absolutely brutal. Not sure why the spacing was so bad. Ranger talked to all groups and came back and said, “nothing I can do it’s just backed up”

If I lived in Sarasota I would be joining this club!

We booked to play at 9 o'clock and when we arrived we were told that tee time will be moved 9:15 as they had to squeeze some other players in due to an error at the pro shop. There was no apology for this change in start time

This did not present us with a problem but the speed of play was slow and we had to wait on numerous occasions for the groups in front.

On the 11th hole we were greeted by the starter Phil who told us that we were playing too slowly and that unless we speeded up he might have to get us to miss a hole. We informed him that we have been waiting for the group in front who were playing slowly but he was not polite at all and quite offensive in his tone.

He then came back afterwards to say that he found the problem with the group in front and told them to move faster. This took two holes and left us with a very unpleasant feeling about our visit to this golf course.

We have played the course over 20 times before and have never experienced this sort of officialdom.

It definitely spoilt our golf round.
