About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Course Condition
Overall the course was in good condition except for one green. The area around the pin had no grass and was sand only. They could have moved the pin to another location which would have allowed for a better putting surface.

The course was in excellent shape for February.
February in Northern Nevada, can be cold or warm. It was warm this day, and the course was in excellent shape. Very challenging, but not as challenging as in the summer months. Thank you for a great day of golf.

Great course friendly staff
Enjoyable day. Still winter time so course still in decent shape. Only 1 green had some issue. All in all great place to play. Going to be fantastic in 3 or 4 more weeks.

Love this course for the price. Weather was good for January. Only one green was in bad shape.

Lots of ball-swallowing water!
First time playing this course. Based on its course rating, I was expecting it to be fairly straightforward, but it seemed like water came into play on at least half of the holes. There also were lots of man-made moguls which made locating your ball a little more difficult, and a few challenging lies. Being it is January, the grass is yellow/brown. Would definitely like to come back in spring/summer, when the course is green. Will definitely bring lots of balls, however!

One of the best courses in northern Nevada. Always a pleasure to play. Lots of water. Nice in winter when frozen.
Great Course to Spend a Birthday
The course was somewhat challenging, and a great layout. was playing my best round ever, until the last fours holes, which added six stokes and finished with a 81. Beautiful neighborhood. Temperature was in the low 60s and zero wind which is a rarity so we were told. Hot dogs at the turn we awesome as well as the drinks from the bar. All in all five starts from me.

Too slow
Beautiful day, too many slow intermediate players no marshal . After 4 holes in1/1/2 hours I went to back nine which was fine. So played 13 holes. Love the course, but play could be managed better.
