Desert Willow Golf Course

Enjoyed a fun afternoon golfing this executive course...par 60. Each nine started and ended with a par 4. The greens were average speed to a bit on the slow side and firm. Local knowledge would have made for better scoring. Some of the greens are very big and have lots of roll to them. Pace of play was great and we did see the marshal out and about. Bev cart had good cold drinks. This was a course will worth the money.

Played at this course to practice my iron shots due to their short par 3s. Yesterday was the exception! Not only we paid full price at $50 each. The tee boxes were moved so close to the greens that most of my tee shots were approach shots at 60-80 yards from the tee box. The par 4s were made into par 3’s at 170-210 yards from red white and blue markers.

The tee boxes are unlevel and they turned on the sprinklers every 10 minutes during our round (9AM-12:30PM.

Can't believe we weren't warned prior to the tee time that all the tee boxes were moved up to temporary locations. Most of the par threes were chip shots. Most par fours were reachable in one shot. This was very disappointing. Never got a warning from the course and found out after we showed up to pay. Asked the club house if they would give a discount and got ridiculous answer. "No discount but you get to play our beautiful course. I have played this course many times and thought that the management should have taken the time to warn me prior to showing up or offered a discount towards the playing conditions.

No one said that the greens were plugged and sanded and the tee boxes were an average of 100 yards up. All way in front of the ladies tees. The only thing they were missing was the wind mill. They said there was a disclaimer in the small print.

This is a really average course you get what you pay for. Pace of play varies and the greens are average. Fairways are average and the carts are pretty beat up. Cart girl does her job. I mean it really is just a meh kinda place.

I cannot express how disappointed I am with Desert Willow staff. I don't know if you had a recent change in management or the Home Owners Association held a new election and put new people in charge or what, but I can tell you that there has been a noticeable decline in the experience over the past few months.

I have been a LONGTIME patron of this course but will not play there again. The past THREE visits her have been an absolute abysmal experience. Today was the final straw for me.

On a VERY slow afternoon, I was able to walk on and play as a single. It took me 40 minutes to play 7 holes, then 35 minutes to play the last two on the front 9 due to a back-up ahead of me. When I did make the turn, there were 3 groups still waiting to tee off. The ranger who came out after noticing the delay 15 minutes into the wait did nothing to speed people up, move people along, or correct the issues. After waiting for 34 minutes and adding an additional 2 groups behind me in que for the par 4 10th hole, I had had enough and called it a day. When I explained to the guy in the pop-up tent that I played 9 and why, he just said "yeah, I heard". I asked if he would refund me the difference from 18 to 9 and he laughed. Literally, laughed, saying that was against policy. I retorted that according to their policies posted on their website, players are to maintain a pace of 10 minutes per hole, and if they exceed that, players will be asked to skip holes to regain their position on the course. He said he had no control over that.

At a time when your pro shop is closed and operating from a pop-up tent, your restaurant/bar remains closed since JUNE, and the BEST THING about the course is the cart girl, you do not deserve to have my money.

If players are looking for a similar cost and skill level courses, I recommend Eagle Crest or Durango Hills Golf Clubs, in Summerlin, or Chimera Golf Club, in Henderson.

No matter what time you are scheduled to tee off, the starter always sends golfers out early, which causes waiting at every hole. It's so frustrating!

I needed to work on my mid course with irons, this is the perfect course for me. I just wish I had been aware of the club house being under renovation. I also would like to thank whom ever found my 7 iron and returned it to the shop. I was starving and the cart girl had one bag of

trail mix. Other than that, I shot well.

The course is in great shape. They do a very good job. Pace of players. Great greens are an excellent shape and the bunkers have lots of sand and are well-maintained.

All of the staff (pro shop, starter, cart barn) that I encountered were friendly and helpful. Course was in good shape.

Great course, in really good shape. The staff is kind. And very helpful. The snack area doesn't open till 9 a.m., so take some water with you for early t-time. The man taking care of carts let us have his bottle of water. I thought that was above and beyond. It is a par 3 course and pace was fast. We played 18 holes in 3 hrs.
