Forgive the course conditions, they do a great job
I’ve played this course twice in the last year, always a good experience. A couple months ago the course had a water main break and they couldn’t water the course for about 2 weeks. Terrible shape after, and needs some time to recover.
That explained why I started seeing $30 early AM tee times on GolfNow; I read the reviews to find out why and waited it out until the course could bounce back a little. I finally booked a tee time, $33, 7:50am, and came in with low expectations.
As far as the course goes, glad I waited but it was in really solid shape. The front nine could have fooled me entirely - the rough was healthy, the fairways bright green, greens generally smooth, and as much brown as you’d expect from any Vegas-area course in late August.
The back nine is clearly where the course took the biggest hit, but work was obviously in progress and, more importantly, making progress. Back 9 conditions were nothing worse than tolerable, especially for $33. A few black sand patches on the greens don’t bother me.
But what made the real difference, where $33 felt like a steal despite the bad conditions, was the experience. They take good care of you and clearly know they’ve gotta make up for the course a little bit. They do the simple things well.
• Rounds starting on time every 10 minutes.
• Club rags in every cart, and the nice tees for free.
• Grass range with affordable buckets.
• Practice areas in tip top shape.
• Ranger passed us every 2-3 holes and did a great job keeping pace.
• 3 cart girl encounters, and she made a mean Transfusion.
The entire operation front to back is exactly what a public-but-still-a-country-club course should be, and I’m going to be back even when they’re back to full price. This course has had a tough history and seems to be making big progress even with a momentary setback, with room to grow that I’m sure they’ll grow into.
Tough course conditions
Due to a problem with a broken water line, the course was in tough shape. After the repair the course was starting to recover. The staff was so nice and apologetic for the condition of the course. We will definitely return.
Great Value Following Recent Water Main Break
Played this course for the first time on a Saturday morning and was eager to learn why it was so cheap and why such the recent harsh reviews. Upon arriving to the pro shop, the super friendly guy behind the counter explained they had a sudden main water line break during July that left them unable to water the course for two weeks, which is why the course is currently in rough shape. However, since then, you can easily tell they have made progress towards getting this course back to normal. Will definitely be back in August while it’s only $30 and will be back after their planned seeding end of Sept early Oct.
Before reseed
Got a super discount rate for a 7am tee time. I knew the. Course was getting reseeded and knew course wasn't going to be prestige. For the price it was great to get my sticks out and hit the ball.
Course Should Close For repairs until it plays better
Legacy is always a fun course to play, but unfortunately, they have had a problem with their irrigation system and many of the holes are under construction, and the greens are nearly unplayable on most holes. They should really consider closing until the course is in better shape.
Legacy GC Aug 2025
Not worth even $33 green fees. Holes under construction, workers on the course ,greens while playing,Sprinklers on making some fairways water hazards, greens all under aeration whatever,
Rough
I did not wnjoy. Lots of beginners partying taking too much time. The course itself was in such bad condition. Not worth playing even if it was free.
Sad shape
Sadly, this course is terrible at this time. Everything needs attention. The tee boxes were in 1/5 shape, the fairways were maybe a 2/5, and the greens were basically barren wastelands. I’ll pass on playing here again for the near future until they fix this course. They need to close it for a month and get it under control
Dry and sandy, but playable… Decent value with summer discount
Legacy may have been one of the elite courses in the Las Vegas valley in years past. Currently, it’s a little rough around the edges. This was my second time playing legacy, several months apart, and I didn’t see any improvement to speak of. Fairways were dry, the greens were more patchy sand than grass and the practice areas were in similar states.
I enjoy the layout of the course and played well considering the added difficulty when it came to putting. For $28 a round, I would recommend Legacy for a casual round.
Would Not Play
This course was in the worst condition that I’ve ever seen. It was barely playable. They were doing construction on the course greens were in terrible shape. Fairways were in bad shape. This was not the first time I played there, but it will be the last for a long time. This course needs a lot of work.
Goat Ranch
The fact you have to give one-star on these ratings is a travesty. This is not a golf course, this is a goat ranch. The holes don’t even have greens on them, let alone grass in the fairway. I know they claim it’s a water issue, but that course isn’t in disrepair because of a few days without water — that took some intentional neglect to make it that bad. An utter ridiculous prospect to have paid $71 for a round of “golf” with those conditions. Just close the place down if you can’t maintain it at even a basic level.
Worst course at the moment
Legacy used to be a nice course. Now the fairway is better than greens . I played nine holes and almost left after five holes. As it stands it’s better to go to the range than play legacy in current conditions.
Wait until end of year or beginning of next year
The conditions make this course barely playable. I’m not a good golfer, but watching putts jump 1-3 feet into the air because you’re playing on yellows and browns (instead of greens) is pretty frustrating. Maybe worth $10, but not $30. I’ll pay a little more and play a real round of golf. With that said, the views and layout are awesome! If the course were in good shape, this would be a very nice course!
