Lakes/Sunrise at Spanish Trail Country Club
About
Opened in 1984, Spanish Trail Country Club is one of Las Vegas' oldest golf courses. The club offers 27 holes divided into three unique nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The entire golf course is filled with tree-lined fairways, undulating hills, and sparkling lakes but each nine offers a distinct environment. The Lakes/Sunrise Course is the shortest of the three combinations at 6,957 yards. The aptly named Lakes nine has water coming into play on six holes. Golfers should be prepared for several forced carries as well as water guarding the greensides on five holes. The fifth hole on the Sunrise nine was ranked as one of the toughest holes on the PGA Tour back in the late 80s when the club hosted the Las Vegas Invitational. The back nine also has plenty of water, most notably on its signature final hole, which features a scenic waterfall.

Par 3 - Spanish Trail Photo submitted by Bissonpa on 11/26/2012
Great course
The fairways and greens on this course were immaculate. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
amazing
The course and conditions where tournament quality. The landscape and surrounding area was beautiful. My first time playing this course and it is one of the nicest courses I have played. I paid 40.00 for the round it included the cart and a bucket of balls. It felt like the course was worth probably 200.00 a round( drink prices matched a 200.00 a round club). I would play this course every time golf now gets a deal this good.
VERY NICE GOLF COURSE

Course vs service
Beautiful golf course and not so good service. Went to the pro shop to pay(somewhat friendly but gave you the i'm better than you vibe). There is no starter, so they start you from the pro shop.Called my tee time and put us out as a twosome to the first hole behind a group of 5 ( is that even allowed)? Of course the group of 5 did not let us play through as the locals displayed no courtesy the whole trip we were there. The people who lived on the course would not even look at you never mind say hello or wave to you. Anyway I went back to pro shop and they let us play the other nine On the 7th hole my golf cart died. I called the pro shop and got a recording. Took me 15 minutes of calling to finally get through.( enough said about that). Course was beautiful but directions to holes and yardage markers were terrible, they did not have a GPS system which would have been a tremendous difference.. Got done and no one was there to greet our cart so we grab our clubs and left. You want to play a beautiful golf course with a friendly staff and a great GPS system go to Pauitte wolf.
Convenient course with reasonable challenges
This was my second time playing here. I rarely play within the Vegas Loop. I will be back!
Well maintained beautiful course
Spanish Trail was a highlight of the 4 courses I played last weekend. It's exceptionally well maintained nestled amongst an upscale neighborhood. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all green and lush. Staff is friendly and responsive (had a battery problem on the cart, they replaced it quickly). I'd play there again anytime.
great course to play
I have played this couse a few time and always have a great time. The staff is very helpful and the whole experience is great. the couse is always in good shape.
Senic and challenging
Very challenging and fast green. Lots of terrain to factor in when putting. I hit three greens only to have the ball pick up speed and roll off into water features. Partner also putted off green into lake one time. Let the grass grow a little around the water features, especially with the steep terrain holes. Frustrating to hit long accurate shots ( so you think) only to watch your ball run like Forrest Gump all the way to the water. Or miss a downhill put and see the same.
Greens are treacherous
This course is absolutely beautiful. The greens have a very high Stimpmeter. Playing above the hole on any green will be an exercise in frustration.
Like night and day
We played the Sunrise and Canyon nines. The Canyon nine was excellent. The holes were interesting and visually appealing, and the conditions were very good. The Sunrise nine was awful. It was in poor condition, equivalent to a below-average muni.
WOW !!
Great course ,plan on playing there every time i go to Veags !!!
Top Notch
Played the Lakes 9 first and it has some gorgeous holes. Bring you A game if you hit from the tips, some lengthy par 3 action. Fast but fair greens. Be sure to check distances, water comes into play sometimes unexpectedly. Loved the course and the pace of play.
Very nice course with great water features
This was a very nice course which was challenging to play. Lot of great water holes and a number of bunkers. Pace of play was great. Greens had a lot of undulation to them but ran very smooth & true. Overall a great course.
Always my favorite
I have enjoyed many rounds at Spanish Trail over the past few years. It is convenient to The Palms where we stay and most other hotels LV visitors stay. All 3 nines are unique and present a varied level of challenge depending on your tee selection but none are overbearing. Try it and you will not be disappointed.
This is a must play
Managed to get a great rate thru golf now, and got to play with a member (Rich) who was extremely helpful in lines off the tee and advising on reads for greens. It was like having your own caddy and having no doubts when you pulled a club.
I HIGHLY recommend making this a must - play when you are in Vegas.
Nice Lay-Out
Beautiful holes, Nice Bunkers, Plenty of water. Get rid of the ducks!
Great track, but the greens needed some attention
I enjoyed the layout of the canyon and lakes 9's. My biggest knock was the lack of any materials to help the player know distances or layout. No GPSon the cart, no hole layout on the card, nothing! Yardages were on the sprinkler heads but searching for those was a pace of play killer. The course understandably is for the members who will have played the layout many times, but if they are going to continue to offer rounds thru Golfnow the course needs something to help that player enjoy the track more.
Beautiful Golf Course with friendly staff.
Challenging course, each hole was different with lots of undulation. Signature hole was beautiful. I will try to play it each time I go to Las Vegas. Weather was perfect for mid-October. I have already told my friends to play Spanish Trails. We did get a very decent deal through GolfNow.com. Enjoy this beautiful course!!
Over-rated
Was expecting something better based on golf now reviews. Course condition wasn't that great. Play was slow with 2 groups of 5 in front of us. They were members so this was apparently OK and they said they wouldn't hold us up but we waited on most holes. The clubhouse was impressive. There are much nicer courses to play if you drive a little further for the same money or less. Try the Revere Club courses.
Receptive Greens but slow and had a lot of dead pitchmarks
I played the Sunrise/Canyon Combo at Spanish Trail, I preferred the Sunrise 9 holes out of the two. Not much of a putting green to practice on but a good driving range. The Greens were very receptive and balls stopped pretty much straight away if hitting from the fairway which was impressive. There were a lot of dead pitchmarks on the green which spoiled the look of the greens. Overall the course was in good shape though and it was an enjoyable round.
