Sunrise
I’ve played this course appx 2yrs ago. What a dramatic change in conditions! I believe you can’t go wrong with $, amenities, & staff..much improved. My handicap is 12-13 & only issue would be everything slopes to right. Play LEft all day & you will greatly increase your scoring opportunities. I’ll definitely be back much sooner.
The Ditch
Very difficult to play course is built around Wadis and almost all fairways slant towards the troughs. lost lots of balls!
Good, bad, and the ugly!!! Worst course I've ever played!!!
Let's start with the positive. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The weather was perfect!
Now for the bad and the ugly! The course is surrounded by chain link fences and barbed wire. I've played city courses before, but never one where I felt like I was inside a ghetto prison yard. There were several homeless encampments and numerous abandoned houses and junk-filled yards located along the perimeter of the course.
We were later told that the course has a nick-name "The Ditch" because of the massive drainage gully that runs along the middle of the course. As a result, everything tends to feed to the right, down into the drainage culvert. Apparently, it had rained recently, which caused MASSIVE amounts of trash and debris to be deposited along the banks of "The Ditch". It was the most disgusting, melodorous, and unsafe conditions I have ever experienced. The trash included everything from used hypodermic needles to car tires, and general waste. By the smell of it, I can't help but think that there was a decent bit of sewer waste mixed in among the piles of debris.
I will NEVER play this course again and, unfortunately, would recommend the same for anyone else considering playing there. The course should be shut down and converted to a municipal waste dump.
Better than expected
I had read a review from a golfer who played there last week and he absolutely hated the course. Complained about losing 80 golf balls with his buddies. Starter explained the intricacies of the course before we teed off. We followed his advice, lost four balls total mostly because of hitting bad shots. The fairways obviously are not in midseason form, but they were playable. The crew was working to clean up the garbage that was in the in wash. The staff was very friendly and the pace of play was good. We thought it was a good value for the money and would play there again hopefully in season.
Nice track! Tough for the slicer!
Staff were really cool and accommodating! Easy tee time move up when I arrived earlier on a slower afternoon. “The Ditch” can be treacherous if you have a hard time controlling the slice. But aside from being challenging in the wind, I got to play with a super cool member that showed me the ropes and had a great time!
Fun muni
Short course but plays with some teeth with the wash in play on almost every hole. Greens were pretty good a bit inconsistent on speed but still very playable. Bunkers were in good shape.
Kind of smelly
All the staff are great, very organized and friendly.
The putting ,chipping and driving range is worth the trip.
The course, not so much
Not what we expected
There is a drainage canal that follows pretty much all the holes on the course which wouldn’t be that bad if each hole did not have a steep drop towards the canal and if the canal was not filled with garbage.
Average course
For winter time frame not much grass in fairways & rough. Quite playable though for average public course.
Great staff
Friendly staff good chipping and putting area. There was a lot of trash was the only and biggest downfall that I could see.
Much better choices
This was the first course I've played here in Las Vegas and I'm almost positive it will be on the bottom of my list. The staff was very friendly but that's about the only thing worth noting. The reviews of garbage on the course are true however they were making a good effort to clean it up due to all the rain last week. The course is in a pretty rough area with and the conditions of each hole match that. There is a drainage basin on the right side of the course at all times. I'm a decent golfer that plays a controlled fade and I kept losing balls that landed on the left side of the fairway. I wish the course was as nice as the staff but that's just not the case.
An Absolute Disaster of a Golf Course – Avoid at All Costs
This was, without question, the worst golf course I have ever stepped foot on in my entire existence. Calling it a "golf course" is generous—it’s more like an abandoned landfill with flags stuck in the ground.
From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a nightmare. The course is absolutely littered with garbage—trash everywhere, tumbling across the fairways, stuck in the water hazards, and blending in so well with the terrain that finding a golf ball was nearly impossible. To make matters worse, stray dogs and even homeless people were wandering the course, making for an unsettling experience.
And the fairway? Pure gravel. That’s right, gravel—because apparently, grass was too much to ask for. But don’t worry, even if you manage to hit a straight shot (which is unlikely, given that the fairways are absurdly narrow), you’ll have the pleasure of watching your ball either:
1. Land in someone’s backyard, because the course is bizarrely crammed against residential houses, or
2. Plunge into a rancid, garbage-filled sewage canal that runs alongside nearly every hole, ensuring that even a minor mishit results in an automatic lost ball.
Speaking of lost balls, our group of four (all intermediate golfers!) lost over 80 balls—and that’s after skipping three holes out of sheer frustration. We stopped searching for our balls after nearly stepping on a used needle in one of the trash piles. Even good shots were hard to track down because, frankly, golf balls look a lot like the endless sea of discarded Styrofoam cups and plastic bottles covering the fairways.
The only reason anyone might be tempted to play here is the cheap price, but you’ll pay far more in lost balls, frustration, and maybe even a tetanus shot. Frankly, I have no idea how this course is legally allowed to operate. The only positive was the staff—they were friendly, but even they seemed embarrassed by the conditions.
Do yourself a favor and play literally anywhere else. This place deserves 0 stars.
Literal Garbage
Not at all worth the money. Please save yourself the hassle. The course is literally a garbage dump and there are tonnes of homeless folks around the course while you are playing. They try to make it seem like it’s challenging because he right side is not in play but it’s only not in play because the entire right side is literally a garbage dump. Not worth a single penny of the price especially if you are a tourist. Please steer clear.
Worst Golf Course in Las Vegas
This was actually the worst golf course I have ever been to. Every single aspect of my experience was horrible. For starters, we were placed behind a group of 8 as a group of 2, literally at a 2 hole per hour rate, and were told there was absolutely no where else on the course we could fit in. Not to mention the course is riddled with trash, as well as a great view of homeless encampments. Maybe I wouldn’t have noticed how disgusting it was if I was actually golfing instead of waiting to tee off for 20 minutes at each hole. Since I had acquired an appetite after my long wait to play, I called the clubhouse to order some food as advertised, only to be told the kitchen closed at 2, not that that part was advertised anywhere. I also saw a poor turtle swimming upstream in the trash river on hole 5, now not only am I angry, I’m sad as well. It also smells like feces everywhere. Just wanting to share my experience, please go anywhere else in Vegas/Henderson to golf for a better price
The course is not in very good shape
The greens are ok but the tee offs are mostly on sand and the fairways are burnt, but that’s not their fault it’s Las Vegas weather. The staff is very friendly.
