Sunrise Golf Club
The staff is outstanding and the golf course was in good shape for the situation. Not in the best part of town and homeless encampments along the canal on the back 9 was a bit off-putting. Senor group in front of us was very slow and they didn't have a care in the world about holding up several groups.
Great, but don’t slice right
Hit anything slightly right and you will be in trouble. Otherwise a good course with awesome staff
Canadian Golfer
I'm from Canada, first time playing here and the staff was super friendly, accommodating, great to have a conversation with, course was excellent and challenging. Will recommend this course to anyone.
Excellent condition, homeless throughout
The course is located in a wash that homeless live in. On hole 5 they talk to you as you're hitting. On hole 10 one came out onto the fairway to play fetch with his dog. The community isn't great and as a result people have barking dogs for "home protection".
If you can put up with the homeless and the barking dogs, the condition is fantastic and there's not a better deal in Vegas. There is plenty of good grass here. The greens are cut short and run smooth. The tee boxes were in fantastic shape. The fairways were cut short. The course was well watered. The bunkers had good sand in them. Outstanding job by the maintenance team.
The carts even have GPS on them which is incredible for a course at this price point (small screens, no distance from tee, no green slopes, only distance to center of green, but still, they have GPS!). Holes 14-15 have a view of the north strip.
The only real complaint I have is the course layout. Every hole on the course is positioned to the left of the wash. There is a steep slope from the edge of the fairway to the wash on every hole, meaning if you miss right on any tee shot, you're out-of-bounds. Homes lined the left side of every hole as well.
The clubhouse and the adjacent bar and grill were nice. The cart paths were in excellent condition. Not sure what the course can do about the homeless situation.
Rough shape
Some of the holes are fun, there is a drainage ditch that runs through the entire course so plenty of balls get lost in it that wouldn’t get lost otherwise. The course is in pretty rough shape. Fairways have a lot of dead spots and almost every single hole has some kind of roped off ground under repair. The best part about this course was the greens, they were in solid shape. Friendly staff, probably wouldn’t play here again though
Practice course
If you can’t make a reservation at your favorite course than this course will suffice.
Details
The range was closed. Apparently not having enough range balls so the driving range is close could not warm up before are morning tee time. I would recommend if you close the driving range you Up So people can practice and warm up. The greens are nice. It was fast in the morning because it was wet and once they got hot, it started to slow down on the green. Grass is great. The gutter ravine is annoying. The hill towards the ravine is annoying. If you miss just slightly to the right or to the left, depending on which side draw your ball is gone. I would recommend keeping the grass low next to the ravine so that way if the ball does roll down the steep hill at least you can find your ball and hit it from down there.
Basic Golf…good value
Solid conditions on fairway and teeboxs.
Greens in Phenomenal shape.
Overall a easy course, very open.
Few trees, very little water. Some bunkers.
Main goal is to stay away from the slope in the middle of the course (water runway).
Employees were great.
Shout to Jorge, working on the carts.
Very helpful, polite and courteous (even when dealing with unpleasantness).
The $20 replay makes this well worth it, especially if you are just working on your game.
The view is meh. Your not going there for the view. Some of the houses in need of some love.
Good value
Nice course, played in about 4 1/2 hours. Holes seemed similar as most of them are along a drainage ditch with slight dogleg, so not very much difference. If you hit right consistently you will not do well on this course. Greens were slower than most in the Vegas area but in very good condition. Staff were very nice Great value price wise.
Great staff, friendly and supportive .... the Pro Shop attendant has the Very Best Attitude!
Great value for such a well manicured and groomed course!
Gutterball
This courses fairway conditions and greens are average at best, what really ruins this course is the massive canal that is in play on almost every hole, do not be mistaken, this is not fresh water running across the course, this is a nasty gutter filled with sludge that you will have multiple balls land in if you aren’t careful, the course quality is average but just for the sheer fact of the obstruction I would steer clear of this course, literally any other course in the state is a better option.
Disabled Veteran Friendly
Greens are . Awesome. Fairway are great. Good pace at times. On each hole stay left and bring plenty of balls. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to Disabled Players. One of my favorite courses. Must play it.
Great Course
Hat’s off to great course maintenance. The greens were immaculate and a lot of mowing kept the fairways and first section of rough plenty playable.
