Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Nostalgia
Playing golf where greats like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and the Rat Pack played was certainly the highlight of this round. The course posted its history at every tee box reminding us of the greatness that was once Las Vegas National.
The lay out was tricky with a since of ease from the tees coupled with target greens surrounded by sand bunkers. Placement is key to shooting low at Las Vegas National.
If you find yourself in Las Vegas with some time to shoot a round of quality golf at a decent rate, check out Las Vegas National. If your a golfer with a bucket list of courses then, this course should definitely be on it. It's history and pro shop museum make for a fun and educational round of golf.
Blast from the Past
Played here on a Golfnow special, $8.00! They were airating the greens. I was not concerned about the green conditions. Played in July so it was hot but wanted to play the course while in town because it was close to the strip and the nostalgic value. The old Stardust Country Club were entertainers played and lived nearby. Tiger Woods won the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational at the National. I enjoyed the course and the layout.
Fun
Enjoyed the history of the course! I like they have signs on every hole. When I was there the back 9 was closed.
Las Vegas National
I endjoyed the course and the staff was excellent. Course overall in good condition. I would had been more happier if I would have been informed before arriving that the front nine was close and you had to repeat play the back.
Classic Las Vegas Course
This is a great course with lots of history. I enjoyed my round and had a great time. The course seems to be well maintained and the staff is nice. I would play there again.
Pleasantly surprised
Had little expectations for vegas golf in hot June. But the course was in great condition, played quickly, and truly enjoyed the round.
Course in great shape
The course was in great shape. We got lucky with a cool day in July (unheard of!), just off some heavy rain. The course was in great condition overall, with no real bad spots. There are places where the streams are filled with garbage, which is off-putting, but that was only a couple of holes. We later found out they'd punched the greens two weeks ago, but we hadn't noticed and even commented on their great condition.
When we left, we had excellent service by one of the cart guys which was a great end to the round.
Awesome day at Las Vegas National GC!!
Early morning start, great coursewith lots of history, was in awesome shape!!
Great layout!! I love this course !!from tee to greens.
Good straight forward course
Pros: The fairways, greens, and bunkers are in very good to excellent condition. Beverage cart on the course. Friendly staff. Breakfast at the grill was good. Has a driving range and putting green. Near the hotels.
Cons: Busy golf course so the play was a little slow by default.
Great golf for the price
Had played the course two years ago but was hurried and did not have time to really enjoy the course. Even though it is not the newest, this time around I had a chance to play at a very comfortable pace, the course itself was very well kept and traffic on that day was limited. I arrived early with a tee time of 10:30 am but was given opportunity to tee off early. Weather was hot but not Vegas summer weather hot. Greens were well cut and overall the staff was very friendly. I was just not another golfer out to play, all took the time to ask about my play, even the workers cutting and working on the grounds. Very satisfied with the course and will definitely go play again....
Great course in the heart of Las Vegas.
Great course in the heart of Las Vegas.
Enjoyed playing a course that has been part of the tour.
Tiger Wood's first PGA win of career.
A lot of history around course of players and celebrities as well in the facilities.
Green Greens
The greens were green and rolling nice.
Ok pace for late afternoon round.
It's too bad area isn't so nice for a course with so much rich history.
