Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Greens were the silver lining to otherwise disappointing experience
The attraction of playing here waa to take in the history of this old-school course, and that did not disappoint. However, if this course were anywhere else, it would cost $40 to play, not $99. The overall conditions were just average. Beware of the bunkers, many are not raked, and they are extremely inconsistent, most are hard pan with very little sand. Then some have a lot of sand, which is really more like crushed rock. Don't take your gamers there if you don't want to scuff them up.
The pace of play was poor, tee boxes sometimes had 2 groups waiting. I would not return to play here given the chance.
Entertaining Day
This course was the site of the PGA Las Vegas Invitational in the 1960s.
Also, the golf scenes in Casino were filmed on this course. Lots of history and interesting facts.
The course itself was in better than average condition. The greens were fast, but fair. Overall, moderately challenging and a nice round.
Nice golf course
We really enjoyed our round. The course was well manicured and the greens in good shape. Enjoyed all the nostalgic pictures AND signs in clubhouse and on the course. Real good value for the money!
it is very fun.
All is nice, next time I will try the interesting golfboard.
Worth the 1/2 rack rate
Good course & layout. A little beat up in areas but the course itself fairways, greens etc were in good condition. Would play here again at 50% rate. Would never pay full non-resident rate $120 lots of better options in the vegas area for $100+
Very nice course!!!!! Grass was like playing on nice carpoet
Very well maintained course... The people were extremely nice. The Marshall had to speed us up and was very nice about it. He was right we were playing slow but after telling us we caught up with the group ahead of us. The course itself is absolutely fantastic. There are several houses on the fairways that are in bad need of repair but the course beauty certainly made up for it. Greens were just as nice.
Nice course.
Nice course. Older, lots of trees. Kind a like playing a course in the Midwest. Overall condition good. If you like older style courses you would enjoy playing here. Staff very friendly. However, not able to use coupon for this restricted period which was not stated on the SNGA coupon.
Classic Old School Course
Nice old school course in good condition. Nice staff. Good value.
Great history!
Really enjoyed the day. Great course and excellent staff.
Close to strip so very accessible.
Professionally placed sand traps
Greens had true roll for middle of winter. Fairways in above average shape. Staff very friendly. Lousy rainy weather--still had a great time.
Las Vegas National
The course is tired. He homes surrounding the course are even worse, very run down from a once glamorous time. The garbage surrounding the river is totally disgusting. Pleasant staff and as it was a wet morning with very few gofers, I played 18 holes in just under 2 1/2 hours. Won't rush back here.
lV National
The fairways were in great condition. One of the best kept fairways in LV in the month of February. Staff was v8friendly.
Beautiful Course with lots of Cool History
First off I'd like to say that this course was lush in the areas that needed to be lush. If you're off the fairway or way off the green complexes, the grass is patchy. Not a huge issue. The housing around the course is dated to say the least, but your on the course not in the houses. This course and the clubhouse have a vintage, classic untouched feel to them which is kind of refreshing. The course was in great condition, the greens were fantastic and the staff were awesome. Go early and have breakfast. For 8$ you can have an amazing breakfast and go golf a classic course with a ton of history for 65$ on Golfnow. The house on the left side of the first fairway with the pink trim is the house from Casino. Like I said before, tons of cool history.
The course was in excellent condition
Had a great time playing this course. From tee box to green, the course was in great shape. Staff was friendly and helpful when I had to change my tee time. The price was right and playing on such a historic course was enjoyable. Would recommend it to anyone traveling to Las Vegas
Great Older Track But....
Great layout. Excellent greens, very tough, Excellent staff. Good food.
Now the bad. Grass burnt out or dead in many area of the course.
The surrounding homes, many appear to have been abandoned or homeless people living there.
Lots of garbage in the water hazards, not visually appealing. This is the second time I have mentioned this issue. Need to spend a few and get this eyesore cleaned up. Could be a 5 star course otherwise.
Fantastic Round of Golf
Took a long weekend trip to Vegas. The course was less than 15 minutes away from the Palazzo. Scheduled an 8:10 am tee time, but due to a freeze delay (chilly Jan day) all tee times prior to 9 am start were a shotgun start. No problem with the delay as the staff was great and I got to spend time talking golf and Vegas activities with the local golfers. I was a little rusty, but the course was great as the weather warmed up through the round.
National
Course Design is ok the oversees was spotty dormant areas very rough
