Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Overall, Good!
Still a very good course dispite not being once what it was. Wonderful staff, very polite and helpful, they certainly add to the experience. Greens are in very condition, fairways are reasonable and for the price, it's very good.
Fun course.
Had a great time here. It is a bit like taking a step back in time as all the home around the course a very old.
Great course with a hint of the pro past quality.
Nice staff always friendly, great course for the golfer that does not like to play 5 hours or over. Some challenging pro level holes. One of my top 3 for the quality, friendly staff and a great price. Take advantage of the golf specials. Great food at moderate prices in the club house.
Very close to the Strip
Very convenient if you stay on the Strip - a $15 taxi ride. Course ok for mid to high handicappers - good golfers would find it a little disappointing. Great staff and overall reasonable value.
Very very BEST !
Very interesting!
In excellent condition!
I'm going to play again.
Good course near the LV Strip
This was my first real round of golf and I really enjoyed playing here. Its proximity to the Las Vegas Strip and my hotel made it an easy decision for me to come here. As for the round itself, I enjoyed the course for its beginner-friendliness. There were only two or three holes where I felt nervous about crossing a hazard to reach a fairway and continue my round. The course itself is very well maintained although there were numerous geese on the last three holes and I had to dodge them. Course staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient.
A bit pricy for winter conditions
Smart golf is the key to scoring well. Smaller clubs on short par 4 holes and an extra club to clear the many greenside bunkers would help the average player. I played "winter rules" because of the many bare spots on the course, something I don't normally do. Many of the fairways are tight because of lakes and trees, but smart course management can keep you out of major trouble most of the time.
Very challenging course
I almost did not play this course after reading a review that said weeds were everywhere. Glad i took my brothers advice and played here. Although we played from the back tee's we enjoyed the course and the round. I am not used to hitting 3 and 5 woods into 230 and 250 yard par 3's as most were from the back tees. The course looked in great shape from tee to greens. The staff was excellent and the weather was too ( in the 70"s). Some the holes where there was water, could not be seen and I hit into 3 of them. Some homes around the course were in need of renovations but it's not the courses fault. I like seeing tree lined fairways as opposed to the desert you see in most Vegas courses. You get the feel of the Northwest or California. It was pointed out to me that the movie Casino was filmed at the home off the 18th fairway. I remember that house in the movie and the fairway where the plane landed. I would definitely like to play this course again.
Great course
Great historic old style course, lots of golf history
Great course
Great course the conditioning was good with quick greens. Not a lot of sand in the bunkers and the neighbourhood around the course was sketchy.
Dated, somewhat tired but decent course
Clubhouse is older, basic and somewhat tired ..... which we discovered also described the golf course. Had breakfast before round. Food was very good, well priced and friendly service. Weather was poor with showers. Starter sent us out on 10 because the "back nine floods first". Sure enough, clouds burst and the creek on 16 and 17 overflowed and flooded these holes. Two bridges dangerously undermined by the rushing waters. Damage from previous storms also evident. Nevertheless, course is relatively easy and straight forward. Condition was average at best. Nothing special here, despite it's PGA and LPGA history. Anticipated more when I booked based upon that history. Disappointed in that sense.
The Course offers great challenges for a range of reasons
I found the course very challanding as it feeatures, narrow fairways, many bunkers & onjulating greens. With the layout intertwined within a housing area. The was an amount of debris in the wash on some of the holes due to a flashflood that had occured prior to my round
las vegas golf at it's finest
the staff was very inviting and friendly, the course was very challenging and was in good shape for the time off year that my round took place....my friend and i were matched up with a couple of regulars which was nice.....and the history within the clubhouse is worth a visit for a burger and beer at the bar without even playing golf........shooting over 90 AND leaving with a smile on your face is sometimes difficult but the staff, course, and clubhouse at las vegas national made it easy
Enjoyed the round.
Thoroughly enjoyable round. Staff was extremely friendly, and even brought us cold towels on the course to help fight the heat.
Outstanding Venue at a Great Value!
Excellent and historic golf course! Playing golf at Las Vegas National Golf Course is a wonderful experience and a challenge. The course has lush fairways with fast manicured and well maintained greens. The front desk staff is friendly, professional and acknowledges me as a repeat and valued customer! The Starters and Cart Personnel are exceptionally professional in regards to ensuring an on time start and provide information regarding special situations that may be relative to the current playing conditions. On course Host Personnel are visible and monitor the pace of play and always take time to chat with the golfers to ensure a pleasant golfing experience while providing cold towels on the hot and dry summer days, a customer service plus. The practice facility is well maintained and an asset to the overall golfing experience. This track is a first class golf venue and in my opinion is rated exceptional. Lastly, the course is conveniently located in Las Vegas near the Strip and a short drive for those of us who live in the surrounding communities. Try it, you will love it!
The hidden jewel
This was my first trip to Vegas and I got extremely luck with my choices for selecting this course. The staff treated us well. Staff met us in the parking area with the cart for preparation for your round. The club house was neat and organized. The course was easy to find. I will play one again excellent value for the golfnow rates. Bring your A game its a nice older course. The locals were friendly and the guy that joined us was willing to share some history about the course and tips about shot placement during the round.
