Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Fairways could be mowed closer, but leaving them a little long in the heat is probaly best for the course.....greens were very nice....and challenging
Great 'classic' golf course...nothing fancy, just straightforward good golf course with a very convienient location for those staying on the strip.
One of Sin City's finest!
Great course rich in history and local folklore. Greens roll true and generous fairways.
Nostalgic Track, Worth Every Penny
Besides the fact that it used to be a stop on the PGA Tour and the Rat Pack used to party down there, this course is a must play simply for the great architecture. It has a comfortable flow and is challenging enough despite its short length. The homes surrounding the property are yesteryear and will not have you ooing and ahing which drags it down but if in Vegas its worth the price.
Poor choice for visitors
I was throughly disappointed with this course. With all the history (it ones hosted PGA & LPGA tour event), the course has deteriated to bad shape. The conditions of fairways and greens are not very good. At a $30 fee local resident, it is at least a value course to play. At >$70 for visitors, you could find a lot more better courses to play in Vegas. I played Spanish Trail, Bear's Best, LV Pauite-Wolf courses in the same trip for the similar price during the same trip and they are much better.
Challenging
Difficult course for us short hitters. I should have went from the senior tees. Just because you're in the fairway doesn't mean you have a shot at the green. That's where experience on the course comes in. Plan on playing it again, hopefully with better results.
Good times for all
Challenging course, good staff, good practice facility, good value.
Incredible value and one of the best conditioned courses!
We played this course about 8 years ago and it was a very nice "muni" style course. Under new management I guess for the last several years, it is now one an amazingly nice course! We played 4 courses this last weekend in Vegas and this was by far one of the best maintained of them all. An incredible value. The fairways were like some of the fairways you see at the $295 priced courses here in Vegas, and the greens outstanding. We will definitely come back and play.
Good Course
Good course. We had a good time. The staff members in the pro shop, cart area, starter, etc were all very cordial and helpful. Greens were much faster than our home greens, which is fine, just took some time for us to get used to. Course was maintained well. The "ditch area" was the only area that could use some help, as it did smell a little as you crossed.
The course is over priced.
I went to the course along, I was paired with a father & son that were locals. The pace on the front was very slow. We played the front nine twice because of the pace of play. I enjoyed my round because of the guys that I was paired with.
Course was well maintained and not too busy.
Liked the course. Challenging but not too difficult.
las vegas national
good course, greens are in need of some repair, but still a good test
Course in good shape
The greens were fast, everything was more than reasonably priced, would play it again
Had a great time
It was an unbelievable deal for this course. It was classy, nice pace of play, and the staff was absolutely the best. Especially the 2 in the proshop, very helpful and attentive to our needs.
fun
The course was in good shape The time of play was smooth and your staffwas very nice i will be back next sun !!!
Classic style course.
Staff was very friendly. Cart guys made sure I had towels, ice and a couple bottles of water. Practice range was pretty chewed up and finding a level spot with turf was difficult. The course was an old-school design that was probably pristine in it's earlier days. The fairways are ok, but a fair amount of weeds present. Greens rolled ok, but were firm and hard to hold even with short irons. Same weed infestation present on greens. Got a good deal on GolfNow, so was not disappointed with value. Had I payed the going $110, I would have been extremely disappointed. Not worth more than 50-55 bucks. Average public course.
Nice and close to the strip
The staff at this track was very friendly, including the gals in the 19th hole. The course is challenging and it was cool to know that so many celebrities have played and partied there. The $ 120 green fee is worth it considering the proximatey to the strip & you don't have your own wheels. It was sad to see though so many delapitated houses around the course and we were told that it is in a rough area of town. All in all, I thought the course was very well maintained compared to some of the reviews I had read about prior to playing there and would definitely play it again.
course in bad shape
This is an old course that is like playing golf in your backyard. The fairways are completely rough.
An old course with history worth playing....
With lots of history from old movie stars to PGA tour stop and also part of the Casino movie, a tight tree lined golf course with small elevated greens is worth playing. Requires working the ball both ways to get the proper angle to the green.
They were just "punching" the fairways when I played the course on 4/24/13, I would have given it a 31/2 stars. Cost $79 for 7am tee time.
Downside, mat driving range..
Nice old school course
Good location, played the front 9 twice because of teeing off at 3 and wanted to finish 18, not a desert course but I live in NH,
give it a try.
Nostalgic Course !
The National gave us a wonderful day of golf. From the art gallery of famous golfers, to friendly staff, the beautiful and traditional style landscape, our day was great ! The design layout of the course is wonderful. It's like going back in time to traditional golf of old. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the greens could use some work. The greens conditions are the only thing that keep it from being awesome. This course would be packed solid with golfers every day, with better greens. But we did have an excellent day!
