Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run

Now I’ve experienced this process before and generally the course does 60% of regular rate but not here. They wanted almost full price for fairways that had 8” grass on them. Being in the rough was an absolute treat during this round. You could actually lose your ball in the fairway the grass was so long. Better luck next time.

Got a Hot Deal at Golfnow so the price was right but no indication it was cart path only. Fairways and tee blocks were overseeded so Blue Gold and White were all grouped together at the beginning of the rear tee block. Added 20 to 30 yards to Gold tees on every hole. If you moved up it was all the way to the red tees. Very frustrating day. Never hit a green in reg..Greens were slick.

The course is beautiful. However when I played Nov. 1st no one mentioned the course was in the later stages of being over seeded. None of the fairways were mown or the tee-boxes. Grass was probably 1.5-2inches tall on both fairways and tee boxes. Greens were great except extremely slow. It was all cart path only and the carts kept shutting down when driving on the cart paths. Staff was very unfriendly and 1 guy outside was rude when asking for water to fill the club cleaner on the cart. Some places the carts wouldn’t even move because of the geofence.

The course is tight and narrow. If you have a slice it may be a long day in the trees.

Every time we play this course, there seems to be some type of issue with the staff, one time it was kicking my son of the course because he did not have a collared shirt (he was 9), or this time.

Course was over seeded but we were not informed; cart path only. I played with 5 others from other cities. All had issues. Carts were geo-fenced and stopped multiple time along the actual cart path. Staff were called, reset the carts and then they stalled again. This happened multiple times. Then they just stopped picking up the phone.

They knew this was an issue, but when I asked for a new cart, they just finally put it on VIP. It really wrecked our round again. Guy at Cary return did not say anything when we returned the cart to him.

We played Harbourtown yesterday, everything was amazing, but for Golden bear, seems like they are struggling, we don’t even have these problems at other courses we play all over the world and we play a lot.

Middle of the road course.

Conditioning was so/so and expected better with Jack's name on it.

But for price was decent in HH.

Played a round at The Golden Bear on vacation. Proshop staff got us set up with nice rental Callaway clubs and balls. Course was not un ideal condition because of recent over seeding that was still coming in, but this is a nicely designed course that is challenging for a mid-handicaper, and pace of play was excellent - 3:45.

Fun and challenging course that I enjoyed getting to play. The greens were phenomenal. The fairways and rough were also in very good shape. Some tee box areas were pretty bad but mostly in good shape. Was very disappointed to have cart path only, according to the course due to overseeding. The only other part of the round that could have been better was the tee boxes were combined a lot and made you play at a mystery distance in regard to inputting your round for handicap purposes.

Beautiful day beautiful course bad timing. It had just been overseeded so car path only. This was unfortunate because it was an EXTREMELY long round and we waited on every hole. When we made the turn, there were 2 groups on 10 and we continued to wait. We never saw a ranger on the course which was also disappointing.

Go course layout but tees and fairways were very poor. Would not recommend

Overall I thought the layout was great. The course was just over seeded so it was cart path only so it made for a longer round. All in all this was well worth it.

Took almost 5 hours to play, carts were cart path only. Tees were all chewed up since the markers were all together at the back of the tee box.

We booked on line. No notice on the GB site that I saw they had just over seeded and so cart path only would be in effect. I booked two foursomes at $900.00+ Why no notice? Screw the golfers even if they’re all 80 plus. We didn’t complain cause that’s not our thing and we wanted to play…but were we annoyed… you bet!

If I would of known the course was cart path only due to over seeding, I would on not made the reservation. 12,000 steps and slow play. Did not finish round due to slowness.

Pace was very slow due to cart path only for overseeding. Didn’t see the need for this type of play as the wide tires on golf carts shouldn’t affect seed on the fairways.

So sad a elderly foursome ruined the day for at least 16 of us. Tee off at 230 and qas unable to get 14 holes in. For the price it's mind boggling there isn't a Marshall. So sad wont be back and that's to bad.
