Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run

We were backed up three groups deep on every single hole we played. It was absolutely ridiculous that they let it get so backed up! When we finished over 5+ hours later the guy we spoke with said they had a tournament group and two bachelor groups playing and he apologized for the slow play! Won’t be recommending this course to anyone.

We had an 11:04 tee time. We did not get to tee off until 11:30 with a group of 24 golfers in front of us. We waited substantially on every hole. Finally after three groups behind us quit their rounds early and it was 4:30 (5 hours} and we had been waiting over ten minutes while the group in front of us searched for ball, we quit and skipped the last two holes. There was a group searching for balls within tee shot on 18 when we got there. 18 looked like a great hole and I was sad to not get to play it. Thus we will never play there again.

We had to sit and wait at every tee box with at least three teams of golfers backed up at each tee box! There was no Marshall to keep play going and waiting as much as 15-20 minutes to hit a golf ball is ridiculous! It took us over 5 hours to play the course with a threesome. When we finished up the man where we dropped off the cart apologized for the slow play and said he didn’t know why they had scheduled a tournament and two bachelor parties in amongst regular golf play. Will not be recommending anyone to play here for sure.

We teed off about 20 minutes late. Starter said it would open up after everyone got started. He estimated a 2 hr/7 minute front 9. It took 2:45. 2 or 3 groups waiting on holes. Not good. Over a 5 hour round.

Nice course. Nice people. Weather was great.

Horrible pace of play.

Just over 5 hours. To me, this is a deal breaker. I assume this means they overbook and just care about getting more money.

Will never come back.

Horrific pace of play - took over 5 1/2 hours to play. Nice course, great layout but the round was ruined by the course being overbooked - to make extra money by jamming an extra tee time into each hour. Staff was aware of the situation and did nothing to alleviate the problem. Drove a long way and the group was looking forward to playing the course, but came away very disappointed that the course puts $$ over customer satisfaction.

This course was very nice, but overbooked. Had a 2:48 tee time, anticipating to finish right at dark. Place of play was so slow due to being overcrowded, that our group was unable to play the last two holes because of darkness. Feel like we should at least get a small portion of our fees back. I was extremely excited about playing this course beforehand, and was let down due to not being able to finish the round and the pace of play.

Ran a little slow but the day was so perfect I didn’t care. Rough can be mean at times where you roll off the fairway by a yard and can’t find your ball.

Nice course that was moderately challenging. The course layout was fun and interesting Nothing too hard. Green speed was a little slow but were smooth.

Had a great time playing this very well maintained course.

Always enjoy playing this golf course and it’s always in great shape. Not a fan of 5-hour rounds though!

Really enjoyed Golden Bear. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Course and greens were in great shape. Could have used a larger course map, as the one on the scorecard was so small it was almost unreadable. A little slow, even though the course wasn’t crowded. Group in front was extremely slow, even though the Marshall tried to speed them up. Clearly playing from the wrong tees! In spite of that, we had a great time and will definitely go back next time we are in the area!
