About
A Pete Dye redesign of a George Cobb and Willard Byrd original design helped take the Robber's Row Course at Port Royal Golf Club toward the head of the pack on Hilton Head. Dye added or redesigned 43 bunkers on the front nine, changing par from 35 to 36 and did some shortening on the back nine to change par from 37 to 36.
The golf course plays little more than 6,000 yards, with a somewhat-friendly 124 slope rating from the tips. Players will have to do some work on their approach shots, as the Cobb/Dye design keeps its greens well protected with bunkers.
The golf course is a scenic delight, however, and in a nice move, you get history lessons at the tee boxes to help let you know the past of the area you are playing, which was once an important location in the Civil War.

Fall getaway
The course has great practice facilities. The staff was super friendly and went out of their to be pleasant. The course conditions were ok, but I expected better. Greens were super slow, fairways were ok at best. Maybe because I heard so much good stuff about the course, that I anticipated more. For the price, it was a win. Kudos to the employees there at the course..
Great Layout
Fair course that visually looks tighter than it actually is. Greens are in great shape as are the traps. Well worth playing!

Robber's Row Review
The layout is moderate. The fairways were a bit rough. The greens were slow and needed to be cut.
Nothing that a little TLC couldn't fix.
Solid golf venue
Course was in excellent condition tee to greens. Pace of play was 4:15 with little to no wait between shots. Two thumbs up.

Great Course in excellent shape!
A friend and I played here for the first time today and we were impressed. The fairways were cut and the greens were impressive for this time of year. Would highly recommend this course!
A good course but.....
The course was in good condition. Some repair areas have taken all the way. A course that will force you to think about your next shot.
Pace of play was an issue with 3 groups ahead of us being all friends. The last group extremely slow and a full of friends. Last group was slow and a home and half between them and group in front. Marshall came out twice to speed them along.
Course and amenities not worth the fees in my opinion after playing two other courses on island this week
Restaurant and bar very good. Pro shop very helpful and welcoming.
