About
A Pete Dye redesign of a George Cobb and Willard Byrd original design helped take the Robber's Row Course at Port Royal Golf Club toward the head of the pack on Hilton Head. Dye added or redesigned 43 bunkers on the front nine, changing par from 35 to 36 and did some shortening on the back nine to change par from 37 to 36.
The golf course plays little more than 6,000 yards, with a somewhat-friendly 124 slope rating from the tips. Players will have to do some work on their approach shots, as the Cobb/Dye design keeps its greens well protected with bunkers.
The golf course is a scenic delight, however, and in a nice move, you get history lessons at the tee boxes to help let you know the past of the area you are playing, which was once an important location in the Civil War.

My favorite course in Hilton Head
Robber’s Row Golf Course if by far my favorite course in Hilton. The course is in great condition. Staff is friendly. Highly recommend it.
Barron’s change
A 24 person event was before me on robbers so they switched me to Barton’s. Very slow from lunch crowd. 430 at best for 18 holes. Bill the starter is AWESOME!!!!!
Course layout
Robbers row is one of the better courses on Hilton Head. The layout is great . Makes its way through Port Royal plantation.I love dog legs. the sand traps played true. Greens are in good shape but slow from rains.
Friendly staff . I am playing it once again later on this week when it warms up.
Great course
Due to the weather, I ended up playing alone, which isn’t ideal, but I liked the layout and the course was in great shape. It is very forgiving, with wide fairways, although you need to have a good short game as you approach the greens which are protected by some really large bunkers.
I can’t wait to play again when the weather is better.
First I booked the Robbery Row, told me that there was a mix up we had to play Bancoy in stead. Got rained out and there wasn’t any offer of rain checks to finish your round.
I belong to Firestone CC at least they offer that and I live in Shipyard as well.
Loved the people and course
Definitely expensive for a round, but get the 7 or 3 day unlimited pass and you’ll get your money’s worth in no time. Prepare to spend 5 hours if you’re in a foursome at prime time, but I played solo once and finished in half that time.
Fall getaway
The course has great practice facilities. The staff was super friendly and went out of their to be pleasant. The course conditions were ok, but I expected better. Greens were super slow, fairways were ok at best. Maybe because I heard so much good stuff about the course, that I anticipated more. For the price, it was a win. Kudos to the employees there at the course..
Great Layout
Fair course that visually looks tighter than it actually is. Greens are in great shape as are the traps. Well worth playing!

Robber's Row Review
The layout is moderate. The fairways were a bit rough. The greens were slow and needed to be cut.
Nothing that a little TLC couldn't fix.
