About
A Pete Dye redesign of a George Cobb and Willard Byrd original design helped take the Robber's Row Course at Port Royal Golf Club toward the head of the pack on Hilton Head. Dye added or redesigned 43 bunkers on the front nine, changing par from 35 to 36 and did some shortening on the back nine to change par from 37 to 36.
The golf course plays little more than 6,000 yards, with a somewhat-friendly 124 slope rating from the tips. Players will have to do some work on their approach shots, as the Cobb/Dye design keeps its greens well protected with bunkers.
The golf course is a scenic delight, however, and in a nice move, you get history lessons at the tee boxes to help let you know the past of the area you are playing, which was once an important location in the Civil War.

It was overbooked. Had to wait an hour or walk. No carts became available and Proshop wouldn’t answer phone.
Fix your issue.
On Golf Now I booked us to play Robbers Row. When we arrived at the course we were told that Robbers Row was the private course and we were rebooked to play an hour later on the Barony course. Staff said it was Golf Nows fault. If Robbers Row is really 100% private why is it even listed on Golf Now. If not the course should honor the tee times and course booked. Now issues with the course. Condition was fine. Pace of play was way too slow. Perhaps a course Marshall would help. Waited on almost every shot. .

Well maintained. Nice cart paths. Very peaceful and beautifully designed course. I’m coming back to play Robber’s Row!
Great day for golf
Everything about the course was wonderful! You can always find one thing bad about the course. ( mine was paying $4 for a coke ) The layout and condition of the course was great!

My favorite course in Hilton Head
Robber’s Row Golf Course if by far my favorite course in Hilton. The course is in great condition. Staff is friendly. Highly recommend it.
Barron’s change
A 24 person event was before me on robbers so they switched me to Barton’s. Very slow from lunch crowd. 430 at best for 18 holes. Bill the starter is AWESOME!!!!!
Course layout
Robbers row is one of the better courses on Hilton Head. The layout is great . Makes its way through Port Royal plantation.I love dog legs. the sand traps played true. Greens are in good shape but slow from rains.
Friendly staff . I am playing it once again later on this week when it warms up.
Great course
Due to the weather, I ended up playing alone, which isn’t ideal, but I liked the layout and the course was in great shape. It is very forgiving, with wide fairways, although you need to have a good short game as you approach the greens which are protected by some really large bunkers.
I can’t wait to play again when the weather is better.
