Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Interesting Neighborhood Course

Cool sunny morning to play but enjoyed the nice staff. Fairways and greens exhibit wear and tear of winter play. Straight forward layout to follow, but you need to pay attention to the path directions.

SLOW SLOW SLOW

Slow play, 5 some in front wouldn’t let a single play through, after 5 holes i had to just end up skipping around them before i pulled my eyeballs out. Fairways were decent, greens were burnt & mud. As mentioned in previous comments, if you’re looking to get out and swing, great. If not save your money…

Great layout, not in good condition

Played today and choose

this course because resent reviews had been positive on conditions. The greens are in terrible condition. The layout of course is great. Friendly staff. If you’re only looking for a bargain then play. If you want good conditions look elsewhere.

Have not played much golf since my surgery last July. My boys took me to Pebble Beach and Spyglass for my 70th birthday in October. Both courses were magnificent and prestine, just like everyone had told me. Probably 2 of the nicest courses in US. Then I did a total 180 degree change to play Royal St, Augustine........the absolute worst course I have ever stepped foot on. Mud on greens with no grass, weeds around all greens. Never again!!

Not good.

Maybe it was winter conditions but course is not in good shape. Greens are mostly dirt with a few sprigs of grass. Fairways and tee boxes are also on bad shape. Not worth the money in its current condition
