Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club

Beautiful course needing some TLC in the irrigation department. Fairways and some greens extremely dry. That being said, it may be due to drought conditions. Otherwise a very nice course.

We arrived before our tee time, however the proshop took nearly 20 minutes to check us in because there was a 4some who walked in before us and their computer system is that slow. When we got to the first tee the starter was rude to us about being late! Then there's the course. I have never paid full price for a course in such poor condition. If I would have been by myself, I would have demanded a refund after about 3 holes. The greens are dead. There is no grass. If there is a little grass, it is far away from the hole. The tee boxes are a joke. One of the people in our group joked he had never had a bunker tee shot before. Seriously it was soft sand and you had to dig your fee in while you're hitting driver on a par 4. Whatever you do avoid this course. I know I won't be playing there again.

I’ve got to say the course May have been beautiful at one time. The greens are hard as a rock and unmaintained. The sand traps have weeds growing and no rakes. The fairways and tee boxes have not seen water in I can’t tell you how long. It seemed as though the front 9 were worse off than the back 9, but still in terrible shape. It’s hard to believe they have not closed the course for a few weeks to get the course back into the shape it deserves. In one of the golf Mecca’s of the states, the course has got to be loosing valuable dollars to the world golf courses, TPC Sawgrass, and other public courses in a 20 mile radius of this course.

My opinion, shut down two weeks to revamp and beautify this course! Otherwise your going to continue to bleed cash! You need to keep pace with your competition. You have a great layout, challenges, and unbelievable natural hazards.

Course is rough shape to say the least. Not worth the money. It’s really a free for all after noon. First tee box had a 30 min wait. A few tee boxes are completely sand. No marshals, starter or cart girl.

Never been a favorite course to play although reasonable priced the front nine has not seen water for weeks. There are more weeds than grass. More bare lies with zero grass, green are terrible. The back nine is much better and we ended not hating the course as much.

Are they giving up on this course?

Hands down the worst course ive ever played. It has potential with its layout but ive never seen a course in such bad shape. One tee box had is literally a sand trap. Its a shame to come all the way to FL and play at a cow path like this.

Course layout was was challenging , however, both fairways and greens need work. Good value if your looking for a practice round.

Hole one is in real bad condition. The back nine is very good

First off, if you do not hit it straight, stay away. Natural vegetation and tight lies means you will be losing your golf balls. You might get lucky and find some replacements though.first green had us scared as it was in terrible shape. The other greens got better but were tore up with pitch marks all over. This was my second time playing here because of the deal, bit going to say it is my last. Plays like a links course, in that it is dry and low shots are ypur choice shot to roll out for distance. That also means ypu are rolling into woods and water ypu think ypu could not reach

This course needs some tender loving care and then she will be a beauty. Good luck.

Play every week here. Great layout and great people. Can always get on and pace of play is great.

Greens and tee boxes are horrible right know. Not sure what happened

Condition is tough but the staff is super friendly

Played before and was in much better condition. Nice layout, however the greens, tee boxes and fairways in general were in very rough condition. Can't say in good consciousness that I could recommend the course in current condition.

Very frustrating course. Even if you are fortunate enough to hit the fairway the lie is terrible. Felt like someone tried to fill up a little bit of space with a golf course……. unsuccessfully. Spend a few more bucks and play one of the much nicer courses in the area.

Fairways are crowned, so ball frequently rolls off into woods or water. Greens were in rough shape. No water stations at this time, beer cart had broken iPad, so they seemed to have removed it from the course.
