About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Nice layout good value
Played here about a year ago. Thought conditions were better then. Greens in good condition but extremely slow,
Course is situated in an established residential golf community. No water, ball washers,ranger or beverage cart on course.Not good for a hot day. Some cart paths could use a bit of repair.
4some ahead of a 2some held things up . I skipped 8 and 9 and played the back 9 with no one ahead of me. All in all a good value for the $$.
Wedgefield
Greens and fairways were excellent
Was not happy with Maintenance workers who repeatedly mowed across the fairways we were playing on several times
Not as good as expected
The course had had their greens recently punched and the club was very open about that, which is not always the norm round here. It had rained heavily the night before which meant we were cart path only so it made the round a little longer than it should have. I have played here many times, and the course itself was not up to its usual standard with many tees lacking grass and little definition of fairways. It is a very enjoyable layout, but I wonder if they’re letting their standards slip because they think they’re a top notch club in Orlando, and have forgotten how they got there.
Pirated Greens and Hardpan Fairways
Played part of the front with a couple of twenty somethings which was pleasant until they left after nine.Back was closed when I started but opened before I made the turn. All greens had recently been pirated which made putting a guess and the fairways were dry and lumpy. But I wasn't hiting it well so it didn't really effect my game.
Good course
They just punched holes in the fairways because the surface was very dry and hard. The greens are absalutely exellent.
3.5 stars - worth a round
Bit far from Orlando core, but worth a round with replay of $20 making it great value for golfers who want to play 36 holes!
Coming back after it rains
Like many Florida courses, at the end of the dry season they are hardpan. The greens were in good shape and a low, hard shot would roll forever.
Once the fairway grass comes back, it will be a nice course to play.
