Oak Creek Golf Club
About
Oak Creek Golf Course in Irvine boasts a course designed by Tom Fazio, who has been hailed as the best modern-day course architect. The layout features tapered fairways and multi-tiered greens that roll perfectly. Several sparkling lakes dot the lush greens landscape as well as a few mature eucalyptus trees, though the course is mostly open. The bulk of the challenges of this golf course are comprised of the bull-nosed carved bunkers that are strategically placed throughout. Vivid vegetation accentuates the course and the city gets more than 300 days of sunshine a year, providing the perfect setting for a round. Oak Creek Golf Course is also popular for its practice facility, which includes 65 natural turf tees, a nine-acre all-terrain landing area, two putting greens, and a large practice bunker. It is one of the most popular practice facilities in southern California.

Orange County Gem
As a past member of this course I've must have played it over 200 times. It's a absolute gem in Orange County with great playing conditions, the best range/practice facility within 10 miles, and a service first staff.
The course itself is nice. It's in the middle of Irvine but you'll never see a house or building outside of the grounds. It's not a overly difficult course. Very forgiving (soft) greens and a layout that rewards distance off the tee. I've never had a issue with pace early in the day, though afternoons tend to run on the slow side.
You will not be disappointed
Playable off the tee, excellent fairways and excellent greens...Tom Fazio design is pretty and a worthwhile play... definitely recommend...
Tough to Beat...
Most of us who play at this game find some courses more challenging than others, particularly if you play from the back tees. This course, from the backs is no exception. It is however, one of the most aestetic courses you will play in this OC area. The course is in great shape, the service from the Pro Shop to the cafe is outstanding. It's a great place to bring friends, have a great round and enjoy the surroundings after play.
I love this course
This is my first time at Oak Creek. I was attracted by her. What beautiful view, what nice course! I know why it is so popular.
Immaculate Conditions
Booked a discounted afternoon twilight tee time via Golfnow the evening prior to golfing Oak Creek. Wouldn't normally pay full price to golf the course, but you won't be disappointed if you do. Fairways and greens are immaculate. Nestled in the trees and lots of elevation changes, which makes for some amazing scenery.
Beautiful course but horrible bunkers
Great greens and fairways but my experience was ruined by terrible conditions in the bunkers. I was in several bunkers right next to the green that had zero sand in them. Hitting out of hard dirt only as if they were fairway waste bunkers. I expect this at a cheap municipal courses but not at an upscale course that you are paying a premium to play. This ruined my scorecard and ruined my day. It is hard to believe the Irvine Company cannot afford to keep the bunkers in better shape.
Great Course
Course was in excellent shape. The layout and setup of the course was very fair. Golfed mid-week, mid-day. Pace of play was very good. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Green fees were very reasonable. Club rental, however, ($65) was a bit steep.
course is always good
course is in top notch shape as it usually is.the blacks were playing way up.wasnt playing well anyways so it didn't matter.excellent course just too expensive
Need sand
Bunkers were clay and greens were micro punched without prior notice from starter. Not worth the money.
No Marshalls!!!!
Very nice course, front side played good, backside was extremely slow barely finished, we spoke to the person in Pro Shop after, he said they monitor speed of play on GPS, but did nothing about it.
Not sure I will play there again, all golf courses I play have Marshalls on the course to monitor speed of play.
Tough course, tougher greens.
Course was in great shape but very challenging and it will beat you up if you don't bring your A game. Not good enough to just hit greens, you really have to hit your spots if you don't want to three putt.
Good course, good speed, bit pricey
I played as a single at 810am at cost of $150. There were times a little later under $100 but I had a limited window. Was paired with a lady and young lady golfer (age 13).
We had a good time. Finished in 4 hours, the course was in very good condition, fwys, greens, and bunkers. A little more slope and speed in the greens than I am used to but no great surprises (misreads).
Interesting layout, not super long, although I played the gold tees, probably would go back a set of tees if I play again.
Would recommend and play again if in the area but would look for the $100 time slots!
Great practice facilities. I got my clubs custom fit here. Great for that too.
Oak Creek
A wonderful golf course that has been marginalized by mediocre course conditions and slow play. They need some marshals to keep things moving. We left early as did group behind us
Course over priced. Would've been better rating if greens were decent.
Greens were in bad shape due to players not fixing their ball marks and grass starting to die out. Overpriced for the condition or staff interaction. Course layout was good though as most Fazio courses are.
Oak Creek Round
It was a great day out at Oak Creek GC. The course was in good condition and the pace of play was good, 4 hr round. I love playing this course but it is pricey since it is in the heart of Orange County. Overall it is a great way to treat yourself.
Slow and no sand
Almost 5 hour round and no sand in any bunker. Very discouraging to try to hit bunker shots with no sand.
Gem in the middle of Irvine
I love: no houses, no funky holes, no blind shots. The greens were in great shape. There was some browning off the fairways (we are in a drought). All in all fine golf. The traps were challenging as the thatch above the edge was very thick.
sunday morning bliss
Great course from the blues. Challenging yet forgiving. Pace of play excellent. Greens were a bit slow. Would definitely play again and purchased players package.
Nice Course
It's hard to finish at this course. The tee times offered by golfnow are usually too late and expensive. I understand is a Tom Fazio design but it doesn't do you any good if you don't get to finish. The fist time I got to play 11 holes and got dark, second time 12 holes because pace of play is too SLOW.
Bad experience!
Green fee is too high foe the course condition, needed to work on the fairways. Maybe needed to enforce
ready golf.

Spot on. Bunkers have always needed more sand.
