Oak Creek Golf Club
About
Oak Creek Golf Course in Irvine boasts a course designed by Tom Fazio, who has been hailed as the best modern-day course architect. The layout features tapered fairways and multi-tiered greens that roll perfectly. Several sparkling lakes dot the lush greens landscape as well as a few mature eucalyptus trees, though the course is mostly open. The bulk of the challenges of this golf course are comprised of the bull-nosed carved bunkers that are strategically placed throughout. Vivid vegetation accentuates the course and the city gets more than 300 days of sunshine a year, providing the perfect setting for a round. Oak Creek Golf Course is also popular for its practice facility, which includes 65 natural turf tees, a nine-acre all-terrain landing area, two putting greens, and a large practice bunker. It is one of the most popular practice facilities in southern California.

beautiful course...fun to play.
I had played Oak Creek a few years ago, and remembered it being in 'country club' condition, but didn't find that this time. Its in good shape, tee boxes are being re-done and on many holes back tees are not available to play. Greens were very soft, but rolled pretty well. It is a beautiful course though...especially if you love eucalyptus trees! Great clubhouse...great lunch.
Great Winter Condition
The staff has made the course very playable for this time of year.
Although it was evident that the greens had been punched recently, they rolled true and fast.
The fairways, while slightly dormant, also played true.
Not overly watered to try to stave off the slight browning of the natural dormant season.
We had a Great Time!
Fair
I love the course layout. The course could have been in better shape, but it was not bad. The bunkers were inconsistent with the amount of sand in them. It made them significant hazards.
I got extremely better service and course conditions in the Coachella Valley
I booked through GolfNow the 6:52 am Monday 9/23/13 tee time for $49. I redeemed my last round promo card that had a $40 value that can be applied towards the $49 GolfNow rate but the Cashier at the ProShop refused to give me the GolfNow rate and charged me the Rack Rate of $65 less my $40 promo card issued and sold by Oak Quarry GC and ended paying $25 which I was definitely and extremely disappointed. I vow now not to return ever to Oak Quarry GC.
Good course
Oak Creek is a good course, not a great one. The staff was cordial and accomodating, but not exceptional. The course was maintained, but did need some attention in the fairways and rough. Too many dead, burned out spots for a $95 round. I went out as a single but was quickly joined by another single, and we still finished in 4 hrs. playing behind foursomes. It's a good course, a little on the pricey side, especially $12 range balls, but worth playing.
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition
Oak creek golf club in Irvine, Ca is one of the nicest courses ive played. I would say anytime you find a deal under $100, you should take full advantage of it. Everything from the tee to the green were very well maintained. The staff was very friendly as well, which of course is always a plus.
Take your golf now confirmation sheet!
We set out to enjoy our 50th round pre paid golf now greens fees at this course. I got confirmation from Golf Now and put the confirmation in my phone. I did not print it out as I have never had a problem before. We showed up with our Pastor & a business associate of my husbands and Oak Creek had not input the confirmation correctly. The man that waited on me almost had me in tears demanding that my confirmation number meant nothing and continued demanding that we owed $135.00 green fees. I have never been so embarrassed in my life!
After having to call golf now twice because the person on the other end couldn't seem to get my email address right I finally contacted someone that knew what they were doing & thanks to Brian at the course who took over checking us in, we got it figured out. Brian offered an apology and off we went for our free foursome.
That other man needs to work on his people skills & Oak Creek needs to reevaluate the type of customer friendly staff needed to check people in at such a high end course.
That was the third time we have played that facility.
Loved the course, but we will NEVER be back!
Wide Fairways, lots of fairway bunkers.....
This is a fun course to play, you can score well here if you hit fairways and the middle of every green. I know that sounds typical but here it is very true! Don't bite off more than you need to, conservative play is rewarded. This is a nice course plays well however to many holes feel like the last one you just played? Very pricy, typical Orange County OVERPRICED!!!
I used to live in Monterey County and used to Play Spanish Bay for the same price????? You would think they would throw in a small bucket at this price, it was a very hot day and the cart girl was nowhere to be found for over 2 hours?
This course has great features
The greens and fairways were in excellent conditions
This Course is in Great shape
Course was in great shape, greens were a little slow but great shape
Nice course
Incredibly friendly staff. They work with you and even allowed us to move up our tee time. Definitely a higher priced course. But you have a great pace of play. We only waited once and that was for the group in front of us to get almost a hole lead on the first hole.
very nice course
always liked fazio courses this one is by far 1 of the
better ddaily fees in orange co
played saturday afternoon after 2 1/2 hr front 9
skipped 10 and 11 and played in resonable time and made
up the 2 holes
Very nice layout
They were undergoing some work on fairways. Greens were nice but slow. The layout of the corse is very nice.
This course is a great layout.
I have played this course 5-10 times a year for the past six years. This is the worst condition I have ever seen this course. Fairways were in great condition. Almost every hole had huge dead patches in the rough. The greens had just been aerated and were way too soft, so much so that you could actually feel yourself making an imprint as you walked. There was no mention of it on the website when making the reservation and thus the full price green fees applied. There should be notification given when this type of maintenance is done and an appropriate adjustment to the green fees offered. This was a huge disappointment. Putting the ball was just a mystery. You could actually see the ball move from side to side when it rolled on the green. When you pay north of $100 for green fees you expect a good course, this is a great one, well maintained, not the case here, and excellent greens, these were horrible. This round of golf should have been commensurate with the conditions at $55 or so. Not notifying users of course conditions is the height of greed and misplaced priorities.
One of the better public courses in Orange County.
This was our first ime playing here and were not disappointed. Beautful layout and very challenging. Greens were in good shape. We will be back.
Terrific pace of play for a Sunday morning
Greens were perfect. Fairways impeccable.
Rough was lush & long!!
More sand needed in some bunkers.
Pricey amenities ($12 for warmup balls & $3 for a can of Pepsi).
Good course. Overpriced amenities.
Good Fazio layout. Very good condition. Good pace of play. $12.00 for range balls and $10.00 for a tuna sandwich is ridiculous.
Nice course with great staff.
The course is very good condition. The staff is very friendly and is constantly ensuring that you have a great experience. The range was a little beat up and very full. I think this was due to it being a grass range and a 2:10 tee time. Meaning non-player range use and late in the day.
Will book again!
My son and I had a great day of Golf, The people were very pleasant and for the most part the course played fast. The course was also maintained very well. It is not a difficult course and the facilities are also nice.
This course is very beautiful.
This course is well maintained and beautiful.
But, green fee is some expensive.
It looks like the poster posted his review for the wrong course. He posted it for Oak Creek, but mentions Oak Quarry in his review.
Comment is for Oak Quarry, but is posted for Oak Creek.
