Santa Rosa
Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) mid day with Gary00, Peter and Kerry in around 4H. Excellent group to play with. Partly cloudy, calm and close to 100.
Tees lush, level and nicely maintained with very few unfixed divots.
Fairways mostly lush and nice to play from.
Rough mowed down low and not that penal.
Sand traps nicely maintained with thick, good quality white marble sand.
Large greens putted medium speed and are smooth and firm. Few ball marks.
Customer service is usually good from everyone here. No on course services. Nice, all grass driving range. Basic carts do not have GPS or ports for electronics. Santa Rosa would be a challenging course to walk with many tees are a long way from the last green. Recommended.
Great Course But Thirsty
Mountain View’s were spectacular. The course was outstanding. Conditions were tremendous. Jose cleaning our clubs while putting on 18 was a treat. The only complaint is the course lacked drinking water for patrons. Will definitely return in the future.
Great course layout and well kept
Loved the layout and played in 3:30 on a windy Sunday. Never had to wait on the foursome in front of us (it took us til hole 13 as a twosome to catch them) and nobody behind us. A rare day in golf. Enjoyed the layout (especially in heavy wind) where more strategy had to be considered. Greens rolled true and were very well kept. Jose was waiting for us at 18 to do a great job on our clubs. Only beef: let’s get some other beverages other than water on the course. Nary a soda could be had. Great value course. Would definitely play again. Loved it
Grass everywhere.
Wide open course with Lush fairways and better than average greens. Great course for those who don’t hit the ball straight all the time. Wide and forgiving fairways. Great par fives, all over 500 yards from the black tees. A few challenging holes but for the most part just straightforward Golf with Excellent condition. Nice warm up range and putting green. Drink cart came by one time in four hours. No other facilities on the course at this time.
Disappointed here
Played here numerous times. Never a round where I had to wait on just about every shot. On the tenth hole, there was a group on the green, a group on the fairway, a group waiting to tee off with my group behind them at the tee box..The 11th hole was completely open. I called the pro shop, The gentleman said he was the only one there. When I continued to explain what was happening, he said you didn’t here what I said. He is by himself. I did understand him. Just didn’t think that’s what customers want to hear. I think on a busy Saturday, a ranger should be out there expediting the speed of play.
Corse was in good shape, front 9 was slow but group causing delays quit after 9. Marshall was out and did talk to the group a couple of times
Nice layout, wide fairways. Most greens protected by sand traps and just enough water hazards on the course to keep you focused
2 Great Tracks
We've played here a few times in the last 3 months and were beyond pleasantly surprised. Both courses are immaculate as far as being really well maintained. Starters at the first tee of both courses to keep things going. Tees, fairways, rough and greens I would give 5 stars. The San Gorgonio course has a very different front 9 with 5 par 3's but that's the ONLY oddity. I love letting the "Big Dogg" eat so that was a little bit of a bummer but other than that, GREAT course. It's really wide open off the tee but not some wide open cow pasture. The holes are very well defined but first and second cuts of rough and bunkering. The Santa Rosa course is really pretty wide open as well but much more fairway bunkering and definitely tougher than the Gorgonio. All in all beyond worthwhile but zero as far as snack shop during COVID that I saw so bring your own drinks and grub.
Resort Type Course
Friendly fairways, receptive greens, nice golf course to play a relaxed round.
Table Top Greens
Wide open fairways invite you to unleash the big dog, and you will find perfect lies on the fairway. The rough is another story, and if you miss left or right expect to find yourself with a hanging lie below your feet or an uphill lie above your feet. Almost all fairways have slopes surrounding them, which would be great if the rough wasn't long and the ball would run back down to the fairway.
The greens are another story, run fast and true, however, if you miss you are often faced with uphill blind shots because most of the greens are sitting on top of a hill. There is where the challenge begins.
Fun course to play.
Course in great shape
Nice course for the price for this time of year in the palm spring area. Just be cautious that it can be windy there.
