Santa Rosa
Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) mid day using Forelinx. Paired with Mike, excellent guy to play with. CPO, we enjoyed a relaxed 3H, 50M round playing behind a shotgun. The weather was around 75, clear and breezy. The course came out of over seeding in excellent condition.
The over seeded tees were lush, level and nicely maintained. Very few unfixed divots.
The over seeded fairways were lush and nice to play from.
The over seeded rough was lush and mowed down. Not overly penal.
The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.
The large over seeded greens were firm and putted medium speed with few ball marks.
Santa Rosa is definitely not a good course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. Nice, all grass driving range is a +. Basic carts do not have GPS. Plenty of water stations on the course, usually no drink cart on weekdays here. Usually no starter or Marshall. Good restaurant on site. Customer service has always been very good from everyone here. Recommended.
Santa Rosa
Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) mid day as a single in slightly less than 3H using UP. The weather was around 105, hazy and breezy.
The Bermuda tees were mostly lush, level and nicely maintained. Very few unfixed divots.
The Bermuda fairways were mostly lush and nice to play from.
The Bermuda rough was mostly lush and mowed down. Not overly penal.
The sand traps were excellent. Nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.
The large Bermuda greens were not good today. Firm and bumpy with few ball marks, they putted medium slow.
Customer service has always been very good from everyone here. Santa Rosa is definitely not a good course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. Nice, all grass driving range is a +. Fun times
This course was awesome. The staff was very friendly and got us moving fast. There was a slower group playing in front of us but the starter made sure we wouldn’t be playing behind them. Greens were very fair for summer golf!! I recommend this course!
Very nice course but greens were just punched
The course layout is very nice. Plenty of room to hit to in addition to all the sand and water on the course. Generous fairways. Kind of short from the gold tees (6150 yds) but would have been better from the black tees (6750 yds). Other than the greens being punched a couple weeks before, the course was in great shape. I’d love to play it again with the greens proper.
good course, nice staff
Played here before and as always, the course was in good condition and the pro shop staff were great.
Will be back!
Not the best condition
I've played this course several times and always enjoyed it. This time, however, the greens were not in the best shape, having been punched and sanded, making putting more difficult than it should have been. But I'm sure it will shortly be back to its normal condition, and I look forward to playing it again in the future.
Santa Rosa course excellence
The course was in great shape especially for early June. While it was busy we were not pushed and waited minimally on five or six holes golfing as a 4-some. The clubhouse lounge and restaurant was closed so we had to go to Papa Dan’s for a libation after the game. No view or club ambiance.
Very nice layout
Interesting mix of longer and shorter holes. Plenty of interest for the intermediate golfer. Big hitters and low handicappers might be bored, but there are plenty of courses for them in the desert.
MV Santa Rosa
Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) mid day as a single in slightly less than 3H. The weather was around 100, clear/sunny and calm.
While not nearly as green as it is during the prime, over seeded season, this course really plays well. The Bermuda comes in thick and strong and the coverage is excellent throughout.
The tees were lush, level and nicely maintained. Very few unfixed divots, some of the better tees I play on. The Bermuda is so even it looks like astroturf.
The fairways were lush and nice to play from.
The rough was lush and mowed down. Not overly penal, it was mowed low enough to putt off many greens.
The sand traps were excellent. Nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.
The large Bermuda greens are firm and putted medium speed with few ball marks. More so than many Bermuda courses, the grain really affects the speed here. Putting into the grain and it's easy to leave even a downhill putt short. Putting with the grain, and you better just touch a downhiller or you can have 8-12' coming back really easily.

Santa Rosa
Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) with Bob mid morning in slightly over 3H using Under Par. The weather was in the high 90's, sunny and calm.
The tees were lush, level and nicely maintained.
The fairways were lush and nice to play from.
The rough was lush and mostly mowed down. Not tough to play out of, it was mowed low enough to putt off many greens.
The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.
The greens have transitioning back to Bermuda. They are firm and medium speed with few ball marks.

Great Price , Great golf
Has short holes and long holes but all challenging. One of my favorite in the vale land always reasonably priced
Management needs to re assess
The course was basically in very good shape however, there was a hole with no sign directing us to the next hole. We guessed the wrong way. We could not find water until the end of the 9th hole........so we thought. Wrong! The ice machine worked but the water fountain did not. No water is a deal breaker!!!, The bathroom was clean but emitted a nasty smell. The server we met sent us 300 yards to a bar that wasnt even open. She should have said...the bar, is over there but you can get beer and wine here. She should have known the bar hours.
Mountain Vista sSnta Rosa
Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) with 24hourgolf twilight in 3H, 45M using UP.. The weather was in the low 90's sunny and fairly calm. Conventional 36/36=72 four par 5 and four par 3 layout. The front is almost 300 yards shorter with a couple of risk/reward par 4's. The tees were lush, level and very nicely maintained. The fairways were lush and very nice to play from. The rough was lush/thick. Tough to chip and hit longer clubs out of, it is punitive. The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand. The greens are beginning to not look as good after the recent hot weather, but they putt nice. They are transitioning back to Bermuda and the winter overseed is begining to thin out. They are firm and medium fast. Getting quicker and quicker as the day wore on. Santa Rosa is tight in places, but has mostly generous landing areas off the tee. It would be a good choice for players of all skill levels. Definitely not a course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. Nice, all grass driving range. Basic carts do not have GPS. Plenty of water stations on the course and the cart person was out making the rounds. Customer service was very good from everyone. Definitely Recommended.
Santa Rosa
Rode the Blacks (6720/72.1/127) with 24hourgolf, Andrew1 and Tocho261 in our GK Cup match early morning in slightly over 4H using UP.. The weather was in the low 90's, sunny and fairly calm. The tees were lush, level and nicely maintained. The fairways were lush and nice to play from. The rough was lush/thick. Tough to chip and hit longer clubs out of, it could be punitive. I noticed the entire group was consistenly short on approaches when they found the rough. The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand. The greens are transitioning back to Bermuda and the winter overseed is begining to thin out. They are firm and medium fast with few ball marks. They putted much better than they looked. Santa Rosa is definitely not a course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. Nice, all grass driving range. Basic carts do not have GPS. Plenty of water stations on the course and the cart person was out making the rounds. Good restaurant on site. Customer service was very good from everyone. Definitely Recommended.
Straight straight straight
Located in a gated community this course is about as straightforward as you can get....and that isn’t necessarily a good thing. Every hole seems to be a copy of the previous one starting out with straight straight straight then putt. There are a few holes that water comes into play which makes it moderately more interesting. Course is in good condition with very well maintained tee boxes, fairways, and greens. If you are looking for a challenging unique set of holes then go elsewhere but if you want reasonably easy and fast play then this will do it.
Everything was perfect.
Drove 1.5 hrs to play this course for the first time based on a friends recommendation. My tee time from Golfnow did not make it into the courses system, but the women in the pro shop took care of me without a hitch. I joined a father/son twosome with an 8:14 tee time. Course was not difficult except the wind made club selection difficult. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great condition. Looking forward to playing their other course.
Wide Open and Good Fun
Course conditions were very good, grass in great shape all around and the greens just the right amount of fast to keep you paying attention.
Love how wide open the fairways are, really encouraged swinging the driver with great results. Played with a great couple from Canada, good time and we will return.
