Getting away from the In-laws
Pretty good time all-around. Pace of play was really slow on this day. The water hazards are relatively easy to navigate, even for a beginning golfer.
Starting to loose the greens
The greens were ok but some were starting to get rough. The course did not put winter rye out this year.
In Progress, fairways need some love.
It's been 35 yrs since I played here, and I grew up playing at Errol. What I remember as a kid is still all there, beautiful scenes the rolling hills and nice greens. The greens were in good shape but fairways needs lots of loving, many areas had no grass and hitting out of dirt. Speaking with the pro shop sounds like they are working on it. Look forward to playing in the near future.
ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES, WORK IS IN PROGRESS
VERY SCENIC, ROLLING HILLS & LAKES PROPERTY.
FEW IF ANY BLIND SHOTS, OR FORCED CARRIES. ALL
IN ALL THE MOST INTIMINDATING SHOTS WERE ON THE QUICK & SLOPING GREENS. SIGNAGE IS CONFUSING & NEEDS UPGRADE.
Good Value and Course
Faiways and greens in good shape. Greens were very fast. Good course for the money.
Nice Quick Greens
Been playing here for 25 years. In the 90's and early 2000's the course was one of the best in the Orlando area. It still is! I've seen the course age but it was time for an upgrade and new ownership. The greens were slick which I like and were able to hold high approach shots. I noticed lots of work being done on the 1st and 2nd cuts and the brushy areas around the greens. Plus plenty of work on the course it self. Very happy to see the new owners improving and not running the course into the ground. It is a beautiful track with lots of elevation changes in an idyllic natural setting. But I love those quick greens the most. Will be booking another round next week. See ya soon! Lyle & Friends
Beutiful course
This is on my top 5 for orlando 30 mile radius.
.
Course and Facilites are very poor
I used to love playing this course. The conditions of the course are not good anymore. The staff seems too busy talking to each other to worry about customers, which is odd because there weren't a lot of customers there. Not a good experience.
Golf Course in Decline
It saddens me that this course is in decline because it is in my neighborhood. Many of the Fairways are not in good condition and continue to degrade. However the greens are in good shape. Food and Beverage service is severely limited and there is no cart service.
It is very easy to lose balls on this course because of the piles of cut grass just off of the fairways.
Overall though my wife and I had a great time playing.
Kimbrough Jennings
needs work, but a great weekend round.
This should be on your list to play if you live in the Orlando area. Although the course conditions could be better. The greens are in great shape. Just keep your ball in the fairway if you ever want to see it again. Terrain changes are great for a central Florida course and the lake portion is a pleasure and a challenge. Get your camera ready for hole 17.
disappointed
I have golfed at this course on many occasions. I was very disappointed with the condition of the course. the fairways were filled with weeds and the ruff areas looked like they had not been mowed for weeks. When they get their maintenance issues resolved, I will be back because the course pro, Mike does an outstanding job with his customers
Double booked starting times
It was apparent from the time we showed up that they had double booked starting times. We were informed that they were running 1/2 hour behind, due to maintenance. Well, we waited and waited. They put a group off the first four holes on a shotgun start, and then they put us behind them. So, we went off 45 minutes late and played behind a tournament.
How can you allow them to be part of your program and double book times like that?
Hilly,
Course in great shape. Hillier than most in area. Most fairways have side hill stances.
Plays longer than advertised due to several uphill holes. Nice greens, difficulty much more bases on elevation changes than tight holes. Much better practice areas than most courses.
One of my favorites
This course continues to be one of my favorites.
Course was in excellent conditions. Greens were in some of the best conditions I have seen all year. Fairways, roughs, and tee boxes were in very good shape.
Course is challenging but very playable which makes it a very fun place to play. Pace of play was pretty good at around the 4 hour mark.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would be nice if they had a cart person during the round but they have plenty of water stations which is nice on a hot day.
Can't wait to play again.
Great Layout
This track has a great layout. The sand traps are in great condition. The greens are extremely slow and that was disappointing. Also they mow the rough and don't blow away the excess rough. I rely on my putting to boost my score, and the greens were so slow it really affected the rest of my game. If you don't have a problem with slow greens go check it out. The layout is great, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Errol Estates
Nice course! Limited menu choices. Clubhouse needs update.
Best bang for the buck
Course is in great shape, staff is awesome, greens roll extremely well. The only negative was, no Bev cart on a 95 degree Saturday. They usually have one so I don't know why there wasn't one this time. If you haven't played Errol I strongly suggest it! Might actually be my favorite lay out in Orlando. Some tight holes, some long holes, very fair but also tough in spots.... Have fun and hit em' straight!
fairways were nice plenty of grass on them
Some greens are starting to burn out need watering bad will lose them, shouldnt have a problem with bermuda greens in the summer months, cut them higher, overall condition is well worth playing.
Fun course
The course was in good shape. Tee boxes could use a little work. The biggest concern is pace of play 5 hour round. It's sad that the members are holding up the pace of play on a Saturday.
