Forgettable holes but recall having fun
I played this course recently and can't really remember many of the holes and it's somewhat frustrating because I don't normally have this problem and remember having fun while playing.
I played a scramble charity event and our team played decently but for the life of me can't remember much of the course. It was a decent layout with some elevation changes (for Florida). A lot of "samey" golf - same holes, or similar holes. Worth the drive only based on the price.
My new favorite spot
I love this place! The Lake/highland 18 is a real gem and offers something for everyone at every level. If you're good off the tee, you can score. The Lake 9 is fairly typical of a Floroda course. The Highland 9 is a bitore challenging with elevation changes and greens to match. I came to try it out and now return every week to play in the Saturday league open to everyone. It's a great place to play
Awesome course for the money!!!!
This is a GREAT course, but what makes it amazing is that it is SO inexpensive! I LOVE playing here. Somehow no one is ever on the course and we always have a blast every time we are out there.
Good Layout W Elevation Changes
Interesting course with lots of elevation changes, some of the greens were better than others but overall a good course with a lot of different holes. Fairly challenging. Major issue was pace of play otherwise a good track.
Classic central Fl layout
Somewhat long and several uphill holes that play longer than they look. Greens were medium fast and in good shape. Fairway grass needed some maintenance and TLC. The woman at the check-in was very helpful.
Great course conditions and staff
Definitely will play there more often but hot deals could be a little lower
good hole variety
course actually sets up as 2 different looks--front is wide open off most tee's and plays counter clock-wise around the water;however water not really a issue on most holes.2nd side is tighter and tree lined with more elevation changes, and plays clock-wise between 2 ponds but water only effects the 18th.Fairways are ok cut tight -not much rough.Bunkers had good sand and were maintained;greens overall in good shape some sanding on edges. Was very happy with course and would play again.
This course has a great mixture of holes.
Thoroughly enjoyed my round. Used every club in my bag.
great course, great condition.
would definitely play here again and no issues whatsoever booking through golfnow.com.
A few too many weeds in the fairway, but greens were great
Had the course to ourselves on Saturday afternoon. The staff was very cordial, greens rolled very nicely and the fairways were cut very nicely even though there are a few too many weeds in the fairways.
Making good improvments
Played the course months ago not good at all. But played on 10/19 2013 WOW what a differance keep it up. The course looks grate.
Better than expected
Course was in surprisingly good condition. The course has turned a corner and it seems new ownership is a good thing. Greens are in good shape, a little on the slow side, but roll great. Great golf for the money.
A Very Good Test For Your Game
There is very nice elevation change throughout the 18 holes. The greens are maintained well and very receptive. Tee Box, Fairway and green side are showed attention and is a beautiful course. I can't wait to play it again and see if I can break par. The only tough hole on the front 9 is hole number 7. It dog legs hard to the left and is 439 yards long. It took me 3 wood, 5 wood, chip shot and a 15ft putt to make bogey so beware. Back 9 you can get it to about -3 as the par 5's and par 3's are shorter and straight away.
Scenic course
Very scenic course with lots of elevation changes. In good shape with very friendly staff.
Slowest greens
Beautiful layout, really slow awkwardly slow greens. That, being said, they are not bumpy. Big course with slanted fairways.... Wish I could play it when and if the stimp rating goes up.....
Good value
The course was in great shape. The greens are a moderate size so as long as you get on you at least have a chance of making the putt. While there are subtle breaks, the greens roll well. There are a variety of tee boxes to accommodate everyone. They have their share of dog legs and that makes a lotbofvthe holes more interesting. There used to be 3 sets of 9 holes, but they' closed down the Lake 9. It's a enjoyable course to play.
A Pleasant Surprise!
This was our first time visiting Errol and it was a nice treat! Overall, the course was in good shape. A few minor issues on a couple greens, but it had no impact on our play. The staff was the most courteous we had ever experienced. Kudos for caring so much!
Good Value
$25 for a 9am Sunday tee time is great. Well worth it. A few greens require attention but nothing too bad. Fairways overall in good shape. Pace was nice but did have to skip a 4some that didnt let our 2some play through,
Old time course
Really enjoyed the round at ERROL ESTATE. Very old-fashioned kind of course with big old trees providing lots of shade. Very manageable course with a few minor carries. Lots of elevation changes. 17 in particular is spectacular. Greens were a little slow and a few had some sandy patches. Some tee boxes needed work as well. Overall the fairways were good. Very nice lady in the proshop. Couldn't have been more helpful. I will play again.
Gotta love this gourse!
Course is very open on most holes. Not too easy and not too hard, although moving back to the tips definitely makes it way more challenging than even from the golds (1 tee set up from the tips), especially hole #2. My favorite course to play. Greens are always good and quick, fairways are always green and lush.
