Hyde Park Golf Club
About
Hyde Park Golf Club, built in 1925 by Donald Ross, is one of the oldest in Florida. In 1971, the golf course was purchased by former touring professionals Billy Maxwell and Chris Blocker, who have successfully restored it.
Rolling hills, gorgeous Spanish Oaks and towering Southern Pines make Hyde Park a lasting experience. A tour stop for the men's and women's professional golf tours in the 1940s and 1950s, the golf course gained a place in history during the 1947 Jacksonville Open. The great Ben Hogan took an 11 on the par-3 sixth, which became known as "Hogan's Alley." It has a deep-faced bunker to the right and water to the left.
Hyde Park Golf Club measures 6,468 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 124.

Nice course for that money
This course is well kept. Wide open fairways, but still challenging. You do have to be aware of errant shots from other fairways as they are very close together. The beverage cart came around quite often and she was very friendly. Will definitely play here again.
Hyde Park - An Enjoyable Day
I've played the Hyde Park course before and always enjoyed it. The staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable, and the course is in good shape.
Coming along
Course is shaping up. New grounds keeper is doing great job, with all the heat and rain
Worth the Trip
Course is in fair/good shape. Greens are in good shape, but aren't very fast. Most of the teeboxes are flush with turf, but a few are sunlight blocked due to over hanging trees and lack turf on them. Some of the fairways have some bare spots on them.
30.00 might be a bit high for green fees, some of them other courses listed on Golfnow are the same approximate cost and the conditions might be better.
I'll be playing there again, it's a fun, wide open course.
Good but could be better
Nice course could have been in better shape greens not to good!!! Fun course wide open.
come to put it together
fairly straight and wide open.older track. come here to get your game in order
Great course, Bad Greens
Course is a fun course. Fairly easy, but the greens are weedy and bumpy. Better chip right on the pin..
Nice course
I like this course a lot. Second time playing here, but the weather didn't cooperate at all. Still a nice course with some short par 4's that set up nice for birdies.
A Classic Gem
I had not played this course since 1990
The Course was restored to the original Ross Design and is a true historic GEM and a must play if you are in the area!
Overbooked the afternoon, slow pace
Course was in really good shape, but it seemed like tee times were over booked, each hole was backed up and pace of play was pretty slow.
Great course to have fun on
Love playing here with my friends. Wide open course with not too many hazards make this a fun course for any skill level.
Hyde Park old school
Hyde Park is a old school course built in the 19 twenties is in good shape always fun
Beautifull Course
It is a very well designed course that has stayed true to its roots when the PGA played their. I have fun every time I play here. It is one of the better courses on the West side. e
Good Value For Weekday Afternoon
Played mid-week in the afternoon and pace of play was good. Course condition could use some improvement. Tee boxes below average, fairways and greens only so-so but very playable. Not much water (except in the bunkers) or deep woods on this course (hard to lose a ball unless you really hook/slice). Good value, I plan on playing this course again soon.
Very nice golf experience
This is an older course with a rich history, but it is very well maintained. Pluses include a written guide that lets you know where the hazards are and how best to play each hole. The course is challenging, with lots of changes in eye level. A very good value for the money.
Decent for the price
Course has a nice layout for an old course. Greens were solid, and rolled well (albeit slow). Fairways were so-so, and many tee boxes were sparse with grass. Overall for the price it was a decent value. Staff was friendly and snacks were good and moderately priced.
Best condition I've seen it in years
From tee to green one of the better courses in the Jacksonville area. The greens are in great shape. Well worth the weekday price.
