About
Hyde Park Golf Club, built in 1925 by Donald Ross, is one of the oldest in Florida. In 1971, the golf course was purchased by former touring professionals Billy Maxwell and Chris Blocker, who have successfully restored it.
Rolling hills, gorgeous Spanish Oaks and towering Southern Pines make Hyde Park a lasting experience. A tour stop for the men's and women's professional golf tours in the 1940s and 1950s, the golf course gained a place in history during the 1947 Jacksonville Open. The great Ben Hogan took an 11 on the par-3 sixth, which became known as "Hogan's Alley." It has a deep-faced bunker to the right and water to the left.

Price is getting ridiculous
I have played this course hundred's of times. It is a stable of Jacksonville golf. The downside to this course is the fact that they act like its the west-side Augusta National. They have been working on it for years now with what seems like an attempted drag along. I book a tee time with the two person slot intentionally, and still have to be paired with another twosome. They have taken away the chipping ability on the practice putting greens. And I don't think they will ever finish the club-house. With all that said the most annoying thing is they keep raising the price of the course. They are at fifty dollars-a-round in the morning. This course, as cool as it still is, has never been worth fifty dollars-a-round. Thirty-five at best. How can you charge that kind of money and not even get a hot-dog??
Great Value
Play now before rates go up. Nice layout, with fun holes. New clubhouse being built and Hyde Parke will be a very nice course when completed. Excellent putting green. Definitely worth playing if you are in the Jacksonville area.
Not bad for 100 years old
Yes, the "pro shop" is a small trailer in the grass because the clubhouse is still under construction. No, it isn't fancy. But it is a classic self-contained course with some fun holes, especially 14-18, with fun doglegs, tricky elevated greens that are in pretty decent shape, though a little on the slow side (it's the dead of summer, hard to keep them alive and fast). Overall conditions I'd give a B. Far from the worst option in town, not up to A tier but good for the price.
Great value
Great value course. Hard to beat for the money. Course is in pretty good shape and it’s a fun track to play. They are putting the money and work into this place so it just keeps getting better
Good and getting better
I'd say 4.5 out of 5. Course in very good conditions overall, and getting better. New practice putting surface is one of the best in Jax. Clubhouse progressing.

Course is in great shape. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Price is great also.
Great place - excited to play again.
First things first. Massive amounts of work being done, which is great to see. The course is in good condition and even though the greens had been punched in the last week or two, greens were good, just slow. Can’t wait to play again in a couple of weeks. Great track and the staff is supper friendly. Can’t wait to play it again.
Course shaping up.
Greens were decent but a tad slow. You probably couldn’t get them much faster due to the extreme slope some had. However it could use a little rolling to smooth them out. Layout decent. Fairways were ok. Needs a little weed kill in the rough though. Lots of crabgrass in rough. But all in all I’d be back to play again. Pace was great. Played in 3hr 45 min.

I couldn’t disagree more! You will not find a better value in the Metroplex. A $50 round is unheard of, especially on weekends, greens are in great shape and the rest of the course is filling in nicely. Great job Superintendent and looking forward to seeing the finished product!
