The Senator Course at Shula's Golf Club

About
The 18-hole championship course at Don Shula's Golf Club is one of those courses that just seems to get better as you play your way around.
The first few holes are fairly open and not overly difficult. However, things start to get more difficult as you continue. By the time you make it to the 11th green, you'll know that you're in for a real dogfight. The fairways on the back get tight and there's water on just about every hole. All in all, it's a very enjoyable course from start to finish.
There are tennis courts, multiplex, fitness center etc. There’s something for everyone. The hotel's onsite amenities include upscale dining at the Original Shula's Steak House and casual dinning at the Bull Pen, which serves breakfast lunch and light dinner until 7pm.

Course can't handle rain very well
If it's a fairly dry weather I definitely recommend this course. If it's been rainy, play somewhere else, because the course, especially the back 9 can't handle water real well, not a good drainage system. This time, the course was a bit soggy but playable. The only negative is that a lot of the holes in the back nine were cart path only and hole 11's tees were missing and the starter didn't even bother to tell us. The pace of play was excellent and I had a good round, so all negatives were forgotten. Out of the affordable courses in Miami, I would say Shula's ranks at the very top. Definitely recommend it.
Back nine
When we arrived we were told the back nine was closed due to rain in the early morning (rained before the sun rise). They were going to check the condition later so we played the front, at the turn it was still closed....no rain since the morning still was told because of an inch of rain the back nine could not be played, “would not enjoy it” as we were told. What is not enjoyable is playing the same nine again...with groups all over the place. Groups that came in the afternoon just left and asked for money back! I was looking forward to the back since it was a complete different nine as the front. If this was a weekday of Thursday/Friday day it would be open because they would not want to lose the business. A course in Florida should be able to handle an inch of rain.
Waiting for carts
We had tee time for 2;00PM we did not tee off until2:30 This is the first time this occurred.
The course has great features
This is one of my favorite south Florida's golf courses..There are a good amount of sand traps & water, most of the fairways are very forgiving just a great course especially when ya get a hot deal on golf now.
Excellent play today
We had a wonderful play today at Shula’s and on my birthday.
Good Course for the Price
The course is challenging enough special after the 9th whole. Staff is very friendly. The 12th and 13th were really wet and difficult to play, the ball did not run thru the water condition. Otherwise it was a nice course to play
Great day
It was so nice to get out and play after being in isolation for the past month. The course and his staff were fantastic. They followed all of the rules so that wouldn't take a risk with regard to the virus. We really had a great time
Cleaned!
I played with my husband. It was very safe! that is what I most value by the moment The course isn’t in a very good shape, but if you want t o spend a nice time doing something that you really love to do, it’s good enough.! The attendant cleaned up the club car with something antibacterial before we got Into it. I appreciate that a lot.
Excellent course
One of the best value for money in the area, as a Hot Deal on GolfNow.
No marshal, no starter ... playing time of 5 hours
We like this course. We use to play a lot there. But yesterday might have been there last chance. Guess what happen when there is no starter? Golfers play by themselves (1 player) and tee off at the time they want. So we saw twosome followed by a guy alone. We were not waiting only at each hole, but at every shot. For that reason, I would not recommend this course
Shula’s outing
The course is in excellent shape. You can noticed the groundskeeping staff is working at it. Perfect. A bit windy, but nice day to be out. Shot a very low score and had my first eagle on hole #8 after a birdie on #7.
Over 5 hours game is unbarable
The pace was horrible. We called for marshals to speed up the pace. It was not helpful. We stopped after 11 holes and 3:20 hours of game! No fun!!!
Shula a good track
Great layout. Fair to easy front 9 and the back 9 offers a real challenge. Greens were fantastic
Nice value for the money
Great greens very fast! Layout was nice front was a little easier and back was challenging with more water! (Two different courses joined together) good pace of play friendly staff. Would definitely play again.
gtsull13,
Thank you for sharing your comments from your most recent round of golf at Shula's Golf Club. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the golf course. Most would agree with you tin that we have two distinct 9's. The Back 9 is much more challenging than the front with water on 7 of the 9 holes. We hope to see you again very soon.
Sincerely,
Shula's Golf Club
