River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Interesting layout
I played the Bear and Fox courses. Other than some greens with portions under repair, I felt the course was in great shape! Bear has lots of water. Glad I played Bear before they turn it into houses.
Rainy Day
Before the rain the pace was very slow, Marshall was around, but nothing was said. On the 8th it started raining, and everyone left, so the pace as expected was excellent.
Still early in the year so the greens were still coming in, the fairways were in fairly good shape. This course did not tolerate the rain well. The course has a great layout, with interesting holes. The greens had “make you think” putts with lots of undulation, we liked them, certainly not flat. The cart paths and areas off course we’re NOT in good shape, as well as some big bare spots on edges of fairway.
There is no restaurant, just a snack bar.
We paid $25 which was a fair price for the condition. For this price we would return.
My husband (8) handicap and myself (16), found the course very fair.
Just ok
Layout good fairways and tees good pace of play good 3 courses Fox was best. Greens on bear slow and bumpy
Great February Golf
The weather was high 60's low 70's with little breeze. Perfect. We could take carts anywhere but they did ask us to steer clear of low, wet areas. Fairways and greens were the best we've played all week and were in really nice shape.
Great value
Course was in good shape for January. Very helpful staff we will definitely play again there
happy golfer
the course was a little wet, however, in view of the amount of rain they had it was good.. being from where it is snowing can't complain..
Good day but to soon after lot of rain
The course is fairly challenging but played extremely long today because it was soggy everywhere. Lots of rain in this area lately and we played because in 3 trips here last year it was very old (40's). I can play in 40 degree weather most of the year in Maine so do not do that in MB or FL. Greens are a little thin because they are between grasses. Liked the layout. Course seems very playable with less wind and dryer conditions
Excellent round for the wet conditions
Courses have been soaked or underwater around Myrtle since the hurricane but River Oaks never disappoints. Yes it was wet in some areas but the entire round was playable.
condition of the course
This year we haven't had a chance to play the course in the fairways with the carts , it makes a big difference I think
