River Oaks Golf Club
About
River Oaks Golf Club stretches across more than 800 scenic acres along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Course begins with the shortest of the three nines and finishes with the longest. The final hole on the front nine presents one of the most interesting risk-reward opportunities on the golf course. You can aim for the right bunker for an open shot at the green or try a long drive down the left side for a short approach. River Oaks Golf Clubs' Otter nine has several challenges in store including mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky water hazards.

Nice corse
Enjoy course. Played short but some risk reward shots. Greens where very true. Held line perfectly.
Good course for practicing
This was a good experience. I lot of the things that were an issue weren't the course's fault. We came after it rained, so the greens were slow and the fairways were soft. It was an OK challenge on the "Otter" course, but would have liked more water challenges. Overall, I'd play it again.
Good for the value
This is a good course to play if your vacationing down by the beach and want to get away for a quick game. PROS; no wait time, on the first tee as soon as I checked in. Course layout very nice and spacious. CONS; only one really and that was certain greens were very dry with certain patches burned. Certain fairways were mushy but otherwise most of the course was in fair condition and playable.
Not a bad bang for you buck
The greens were in very poor shape, looks like the frost may have gotten to them this winter.
There was no ranger on the course and there was a very slow group 2 holes in front of us slowing everyone down. It would’ve been nice to have a ranger speeding them up.
The fairways and tee boxes were in okay shape. The course layout is a little tricky. It forces you to hit a plethora of different tee shots. I enjoyed the course. It has holes that are challenging and holes that are not. I would play it again, but to those wanting to play a course that has stunning features, I would not recommend it. It’s worth the price to play if you do decide to play it.
Fair but uninspiring
Very friendly staff, the cart lady especially was incredible. The course is very playable and always give you a place to bail out. The fairways and rough were in ok shape but the greens were very patchy and slow. Played fox and otter 9’s and Fox is all draw tee shots and Otter plays either straight or fades off the tees. For the price an excellent value considering the options locally and would like to play again when in slightly better shape.
River Oaks Golf Plantation
It’s a good course for medium to high handicaps. Lots of bunkers and water to deal with. There were not a lot of yardage markers.
Trying to beat the rain
The corse was in good condition played good front 9 the wind rain on back 9 made it to 15 sky opened up all in all had a great time play this loop it’s fun
Good Condition- Not a Lot of Trouble
Great course for beginner to intermediate players. Not a lot of trouble, if you hit ‘em straight. Had a great time.
