About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Worth the drive!
Love it that's its a little out of town. Plays way faster than any course in town. Hardly any houses around. Nice and quiet ride through woods hole to hole. In great shape.

Pace
We played at noon today.... We played the front in just over three hours. When we went in the pro shop at the turn and told him that they were five and six groups on many holes his comment was "ya it's been that way today. They are very slow. No I'm sorry, no. Nothing. My last time ever playing here! Don't waste your money.... The staff could care less! Not to mention the fairways and greens were all weeds and doesn't look like the bunkers have been touched this year. We finally left after 13 holes...

Love Diamondback and never miss a chance to play it when in town. Patrick and his team do a great job, I love thee layout and with golfnow pricing it's one of the best deals around.

Was a little Difficult
I enjoyed the course ! A little far from Ocean Isle Beach but would play it again
Course in good condition and the staff were friendly.
Enjoyable Layout
Not a difficult course but a nice variation of holes. The gentle doglegs keep things interesting. There is a generous amount of room off the tee except for a couple of holes and there are a few longish carries off the tee and more often on the approach shot. Some of the cross fairway water is not visible. Greens were not speed consistent and on the slow side. Probably because of its more remote location this is one of the least expensive courses but given the course quality and free range balls it is an exceptional value. There is no spacing of groups so pace of play is spotty. We skipped over the two best par threes to get past a fivesome and a foursome who had no interest in letting our two ball through. That was our choice. It was a four and a half hour round for 16 holes.

Course was in decent shape given all the recent rain. Cart path only.
