Diamondback Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Value
Decent course nice lay out a little wet from all the rain the week before . Had the course to ourselves pretty much .Greens were pretty fast overall good value
Off beaten path
Weather on cold side and wind but course was worth the trip......drive a little and enjoy
Course was very wet due to heavy watering after over seeding. No advance warning of cart path only requirement was disappointing. Over seeding was taking off nicely and should provide good conditions in coming weeks.
Challenging course!
This is a beautifully laid out course but so hard due to some super hard par 5’s with water hazards with other marsh hazards on nearly every hole! Bring a lot of balls as you will lose a few! Overall enjoyed the round.
Great course , very challenging
Great course , very challenging, thought the greens were a little slow, couple greens seemed really slow, but we came from out of state where we just played some fast greens, but over all a very good course, Bermuda grass was tough to find balls when you weren’t in the fairway but that’s Myrtle beach area .
Too many women
Woman’s tournament and too much water made this experience less than fun. Great course and good layout, were eclipsed by a woman’s outing. Front nine took us 2.5 hrs. They finally finished on hole 14, so we were able to finish like normal people once they were done. The course had not been mowed in several days, bc of the rain, maybe? Good course, but women are very slow golfers.
Hello, Eric. Thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve as we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. We are glad to see you rated the course conditions and layout to be great during your game. Thank you for playing Diamondback Golf Course. We hope to see you again soon.
Beautiful course.
The fairways are in great shape. Looks like they are getting the greens ready for the winter. They were a bit dandy and very slow. Beautiful golf course.
Very nice course
Course in good shape. Greens rolled true.
Great value. Would definitely play again! Not a whole lot of fluff, course was fairly straight forward. Only issue was finding our cart. Pleasant surprise when range balls were included!
Off the path beauty!
Diamondback is a true gem! Late August golf does not get any better.
The course has seen some noticeable improvements in the last few years, and shows the pride of the folks running the operation. The fairways and greens were near perfect, and the rough was appropriately manicured. This course is probably the best course on the Grand Strand as far as providing accurate and easily observed yardage to the centers of the greens. I wish more courses would provide this information as well as Diamondback. Not everyone is married to the high tech devices found today,
Go play it and enjoy a marvelous design, as well as a relaxing and fun round!
Morning Round at Diamondback
Very nice golf course with a very interesting layout. Plenty of turns and bends. .The course was in pretty good shape, but it is more than obvious it gets in excellent shape in the spring, early summer and fall. The staff were very professional and extremely nice. Nice driving range and putting facilities as well. The course is what I would call a second look golf course. I would definitely play it prior to playing in a tournament or competitive round as it has some places you don't want to hit that you may not see the first time (not many, but a few). Good time and I highly recommend it.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Diamondback Golf Course, and we hope to see you again in the future.
