Diamondback Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Great challenge
This is a course that makes you think. Can’t just take a driver on every hole. Some holes are pretty tough and require precision. Greens well maintained, and overall a great value for the price. A must play course when in the Myrtle Beach area.
Good greens
The starter had groups tee off from 1 & 10 much better on a busy day. The course was in decent shape, with good rolling greens, maybe the bunkers were lacking. A new fleet of gas carts, so well worth it for the price.
well maintained, nice and green
well maintained, nice and green good layout great value
Nice course
DB is a nice bang for your buck. A few difficult holes, a few easy and a bunch in the middle. Played on Sunday so pace was not optimal.
The Gem of Gems
I went back again today to play Diamondback.
This snowbird from Montreal is absolutely in love with this Golf course. I just wish this was my home course.
Even though it's an hour drive from where we are staying in Murrels inlet. I would join this club in a heartbeat. You want good conditions . Incredibly friendly staff. Difficult course. Amazing course conditions This course has all of the above.
If you can get through holes 6 7 and 8 without cussing and shaking your head. Then your an all star.
I have played 13 different courses since arriving .
It is my favourite. Believe me not because i score.
It's because it's beauty is off the charts.
Congratulations Diamondback you ROCK
Very nice round on a well groomed course
Beautiful course, nice weather, what's not to like.
Well manicured tees, fairways and greens. The rough is dormant this time of year.
Bring your A game
Diamondback Golf course has easily become one of my favorites. Believe me not because i play it well. Even though it's probably the furthest from where we are staying for the winter. From the minute you get there Dennis at the Bag drop is by far the friendliest of all the courses i have been to so far and most helpful. Then Sherri in the pro shop who also does the snack bar is super smiley and friendly. When all that is taken care of you get to play an incredibly challenging track. Tees for everyone. I strongly suggest moving up from where you usually play at home. Tees fairways and greens are all in great shape for early February. I am already looking forward to get back there shortly. I STRONGLY SUGGEST TO ALWAYS REMEMBER IT'S JUST A GAME.
Because believe me you will and i guarantee you will not score like you usually do.
Pleasant with challenges
This course has some challenging features but is not intimidating for the average golfer. Fairways were well maintained and greens were reasonably fast and true.
1st timer from New England
Very nice course. Top 5 that I have played here in Myrtle as an intermediate golfer. I haven’t played any of the big name popular courses. I was impressed with the challenge of many of the approaches to the greens with steep bunkers and water hazards. Although my pocket wasn’t. Lost quite a few balls. lol. If you’re not looking to play a Grand Dunes or TPC priced type course then Diamond Back is a good option. Looking forward to playing again in March on my next trip down to Myrtle.
