Gripping it and ripping it may be in vogue, but course architect team Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt are not going to let that be the extend of your strategy at Siena Golf Club.

This Las Vegas course is about shot-making more than bombing away. Siena's 97 pot bunkers are arranged to force frequent strategic decisions. Sometimes discretion is the better part of scorecard valor at Siena.

Hooking the ball every which way is paid for dearly at Siena. It's best to go with the clubs you can hit reasonably straight and give up a little distance.

Views of the surrounding mountains are complemented by six different water bodies, including Lake Siena. You'll be strategizing in some striking scenery.

Rain day play at Siena

Even though our day at Siena Golf Course was in the rain, we enjoyed our round. I have to say that everyone, from the staff that helped us get our cart in order, the club house staff, and our starter Mike were professional, polite, helpful and very friendly. My golf partner and I were very pleased with our experience at the course even though it rained consistently throughout most of our round. I will definitely come back to play on a dryer course soon.

Good value normally but…

I’ve played the course before and sought it out based on past experience. Unfortunately this time around the greens were coming off airiation (sp?) so they were in pretty rough shape. I did not realize this was the case when I booked the tee time or I would have went elsewhere this time around.

Nice course but unorganized

Really liked the course. Excellent condition. A tournament ahead of us really slowed down play. Checked in with 3 different people but somehow was missed and so was pushed back on my tee time. Was there an hour early so issue was with staff. Tournament likely was influential here. Had to play the front 2 times so would love to see the back sometime. Expensive for all the hassle, but a beautiful course
