Legacy Golf Club sits on 28 acres of Dwight B. Heard's turn-of-the-20th-century ranch, home to 1902 silos that decorate the 18th fairway - once the tallest manmade things in Maricopa County. More history is on the first tee, in the Sierra Vista House which counts among its early-1900s visitors Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa.
Gary Panks designed the golf course at the Legacy Golf Club, giving it lush fairways, strategic hazards and manicured greens to test all golfers. Native flora grows from the landscape, and the club's elevation offers a vista of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the skyline of Phoenix.

This was my first time playing Legacy. I would recommend it to others. It is a very playable course - very wide fairways. The course layout was okay - nothing notable.

Greens are usually great at Legacy. They were slow and grainy. Not sure they mowed the greens this morning. Greens weren’t good like usual.

Relatively good value compared to nearby courses during WM week. Greens, tees and fairways are in great condition and course is pretty wide and forgiving with resort type layout. Bunkers lacked sand and some of the areas around the greens are very dry and burned out. Main issues was round was very slow, Starting time was 25 minutes late (at 9:15 am) and front nine painfully slow (almost 2:40). Back nine was better at 2:10 so got done in just under 5hrs. Maybe need to just accept that’s the norm for the week of the WM open 🤷
