Legacy Golf Club sits on 28 acres of Dwight B. Heard's turn-of-the-20th-century ranch, home to 1902 silos that decorate the 18th fairway - once the tallest manmade things in Maricopa County. More history is on the first tee, in the Sierra Vista House which counts among its early-1900s visitors Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa.

Gary Panks designed the golf course at the Legacy Golf Club, giving it lush fairways, strategic hazards and manicured greens to test all golfers. Native flora grows from the landscape, and the club's elevation offers a vista of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the skyline of Phoenix.

Good Course

We played earlier (0604) in the morning to beat the heat. Playing time was 3 hours and 15 minutes. The course is in very good condition. The greens were a bit fast, but rolled true. The course is challenging, but I would play it again.

MARSHALL NEEDED

Love the place, love the course, love the people. I did not love the pace of play on a Thursday at 10:04am. Made the turn on the back nine and only got 3 holes in before the time was over 3hrs and 30min. Would have been almost a 5hr round of golf if we would have stayed. Tee boxes were two foursome deep on the 11th hole. Never saw a Marshall the entire round. Very disappointing my visiting son and I could not finish a great 18 holes in a descent amount of time.

Exceptional Condition

Over from New Zealand on a boys golf trip for the week. Our third round for the week and we really enjoyed it. Course conditions were excellent and staff fantastic. Layover seemed a little same same, however that didn't change our overall impression, would recommend and play again!

Price drop after Memorial day. Played in under 4 hours on a Saturday morning. That's great for Az public courses. Fairways and greens in great condition. Variety of hole layout so you can play strategically. It's not just driver and wedges. Would highly recommend

Great Golf Pass Deal

We had a 5:15 pm tee time and paid $24 with cart. Finish 13 holes. Free range ball. Incredible course for that price. Course tee to green was in excellent condition. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They noticed the tire on our cart was low on air and radioed for a new cart and it arrived in a couple of minutes.

Great course and People

Course was in real good shape. People were very helpful. This course gets too expensive for the locals until summer time. Wish they had a local rate or playing pass for people that live here.
