Great shape as always
The staff is very friendly and course in good shape especially when finishing in 3 1/2 hours
I’ll be back
We had to play the back nine twice because the front nine is being aerated.. However, we really enjoyed playing the back nine twice. The pace of play was good. The course is in very good shape. I will certainly play this course again.
Challenging and fun course!
I like playing Forest Greens, it is well managed and it does not feel like a municipal course. Challenging and fun layout!
Maintenance
Only one hole I played had real bunkers with sand. The others had craters with water but no sand. Must be that the number of rounds played because of Covid can’t cover the cost of proper maintenance.
Forest Greens is challenging and fun to play. The course is in great condition for a municipal. I would like to see a shorter cut on the fairways for better roll on the longer holes. The putting greens were great!
Great Layout
Always love this course routing and the back nine is so much fun. Fairways and greens in decent shape but seems they gave up on the bunkers though. Still as other courses in the area have faired much worse in this summer I still recommend Forest Greens.
Good bang for buck
Good option in PWC right now. Course is being maintained and is holding up. Marshals could be better about promoting a quicker pace of play.
Seasonally rough
Bunkers were unplayable. Fairways overrun with crab grass. Some greens I. Good condition. Layout has potential, but course needs some serious TLC to be considered of any value.
Convenient for the N. Virginia-ers
This is my first time playing here since like 10 yrs. ago and what I have to say about this course is that the layout never bores me. They’ve made improvements especially all of the Greens (much rolls smoother and bit faster .. compare to the past, it was like carpet green slow & bumpy) .. the bunkers needs improvement (need to fill up w/actual sand!) .. overall the course is in a good, playable condition considering how bad this summer have been ..
Bunkers
The bunkers were in terrible shape. You could not play any shots from the bunker. The bunkers were full of water due to the recent rain. However, weeds were growing in the bunkers and the bunkers need new sand.
try it
Great layout; lots of hills and valleys ,make for a good golf day. And, given its late August, the course was in very good shape.
We had a wonderful time. Meet two of the craziest guys Mike and Jeff truly made the day. It was great to meet two awesome individuals. I hope to meet them again.
Good course For the money
Good course for the money. The course was in decent shape but a little wet after a storm the day before our round. I would have expected the course to drain better.
Like many courses right now it’s burnt out.
Unfortunately the course is burnt out and soggy. No sand in the carts so no one is filling divots. No one is fixing pitch marks on greens so the soft greens are like putting on the moon’s surface. Cart path only is always terrible. Especially playing the course for the first time. Very frustrating outing, due to course conditions. If the course was alive and green, it could be a really awesome course.
